I'll nominate Icctrombone's "My old comic book stores when I was growing up". The nostalgia was palpable as participants provided photos and/or memories of their cherished classic comic stomping grounds. I hadn't given much thoughts to my own local shops for years, and this discussion had me spending hours on google maps, trying to figure out where they'd been located.

I shall nominate The Captain for his I absolutely love... thread. Sometimes we focus upon the negative too much and forget to praise what we love most about our comic book collections and other things in general.

I will nominate My Grandmother's Sketchbook by Crimebuster. Not only was it fascinating to see the sketchbook and how fans of early comic strips interacted with them, but the search to track down the source of the drawing being homaged/copied demonstrated the dedication and depth of knowledge our membership here has. -M

Late to the party as always but: I'd like to nominate Crimebuster's Vietnam through the lends of Romance Comics, fascinating look at how comic companies attempt to deal with a complicated contemporary issue through the restricted formula of romance comic stories. It is fascinating to see how attitudes shifted as the war went on. (And, for some of us, it was equally fascinating to find the story behind that DC romance cover that shows a man hitting on a nun.)

I nominate Were the 1990's really bad? By Taxidriver . The 90's are a hot button issue among serious collectors but this discussion lasted 17 pages which contained nostalgia and back and forth which was fun to read.
