Got the digital download codes in my e-mail today, so the book is done. Print copies are supposed to be shipping at some point in the near future. I'll probably wait to get the hard copy to read this (I kind of want to do a reread of the original first), but I might browse through the digital version when I get a chance.

I had no idea it was a download for me. I was going to complain where this flushugina book was already.

I looked at the creation Ink website and they said the books were shipped from the printer on April23. They should get to their storage place and then the physical copies are to be mailed to the people that paid for this project. I had forgotten about this.

I loved Dreadstar but it seemed that Starlin a couple times in the run with the character got fed up where he was at and just completely changed stuff a bit out of nowhere. It seemed the annihilation of most of the cast of characters from the Epic series kinda just happened BANG in a couple issues - this is the end. I also always wondered exactly why he went with changing the look to more of a superhero? Was it to get more notice?

I've always seen that attributed to Shooter's influence on the book and pressuring Jim to make it more super-heroey to improve sales. -M

It actually increased sales. I remember talking to Starlin years ago and he told me that he took the book to First comics because he wasn't getting paid on a regular basis by Marvel. Weird.

I have no experience with Kickstarter but I doubt I will ever donate again. It seems once they get the money , they don't care about delivering the product.

I have no experience with Kickstarter but I doubt I will ever donate again. It seems once they get the money , they don't care about delivering the product. The books just arrived form the printer last week according to the update I got. They are waiting for a few other fulfillment items (prints or what have you) to arrive form the manufacturer and then will be mailing out the books and other rewards. When you back a kickstarter, you are rarely buying a finished product, you are funding the creation of the product and then the manufacture of the item. It takes time. Especially in a pandemic year where manufacturing production and shipping have suffered huge delays that are beyond the control of the creators and runners of the kickstarter campaign and which totally sabotaged many of the estimated delivery times. Starlin has been promoting the book since last week when their delivery finally arrived and saying the books should ship in the next few weeks once everything else arrived and they all get packaged up for shipping. -M

Even in non-Covid times I learned that you need to expect it to take a minimum of three times as long as expected for the books to be done.

This is the latest update about the missing kickstarter book.

Some people are up in arms because Starlin had copies of the book in his last Con Appearance.

Wow, what a f***-up. Glad I didn't pledge for this one. Generally I agree with what Slam said above about being patient; however, I think the anger of many backers in this instance is justified. Starlin selling about a dozen copies at a con, and the fact that the book is now listed on Amazon, while they're still waiting to receive their books is not cool. Especially since the amount pledged and collected was almost five times the initial campaign target.

Especially since the amount pledged and collected was almost five times the initial campaign target. I didn't know it was listed on Amazon. Now I feel worse. Edit: The latest message claims that the books will arrive before Starlins next Con appearance which is July 30th 2021.

Good news. This morning I received an email with a tracking number for the Dreadstar book being mailed to me. It appears that the books are going to arrive to the pledgers soon.
