My general annoyance with Johnny Storm makes we say Jim Hammond

Jim Hammond. He is like Jay Garrick IMO. An elder statesmen that is semi retired that deserves respect.

I don't think I've read any comic with Jim Hammond. Except possibly some throw back 90's comic that featured him. And I am not a Johnny Storm fan either. About the only comics I like with him is Silver Surfer #15 and Marvel Fanfare #15.

Jim Hammond. Johnny Storm is a Buddy-F@#$. And he was still bad before Byrne did that.

Johnny, since he's the Human Torch I grew up with. I didn't really meet Jim Hammond until reading a few issues of The Invaders, and in that book he didn't have a very distinct personality. What I liked the most about him in those days was how he had become the Vision!

Much the same feelings here. I don't know a lot about the Jim Hammond Torch, and while Johnny Storm does have an annoying personality at times, and thus I probably wouldn't like such a person if I met them in real life, in another sense I "like" the character in that he's an integral part of the FF and important to the internal dynamics of the group. IOW, I like reading FF comics, especially the Kirby/Lee run, and they wouldn't be quite the same without Johnny Storm.

I enjoyed reading the Golden Age Torch reprints in Fantasy Masterpieces back in the 60s. And I liked The Invaders series, too.
Meanwhile Johnny Storm was forever d**che to Ben Grimm. And everybody else, for that matter.
So I'm going with Hammond.

About the only comics I like with him is Silver Surfer #15 and Marvel Fanfare #15. I remember reading Busiek's Marvels #1 and it really drew my attention to him. I also kind of liked him in Roy's Invaders comic, which both he and Toro are in

Today's Which One asks the question of which "other" Thunder god did you enjoy more? Thunder strike or Beta Ray Bill?
Enjoyed Eric Masterson in the role but I personally liked the fun & daring of Walt Simonson thinking outside of the box in giving an alien the powers of Thor. It was Beta Ray Bill showing courage and honor and his humanity which was equal to the Asgardians that made his story all the more poignant, for me at least. How about you all?

Anybody but "Throg". Beta Ray Bill has my vote. I found Simonson's run quite entertaining.

I have no idea what a Thunder Strike is. Literally, since thunder is just a noise and I'm not sure how it can strike anything. So, Beta Ray Bill, by default. And I've only read what Simonson did with him.

Beta Ray Bill. I disliked everything about the Eric Masterson Thor run, dropping Thor from my pull 3 issues into it and avoiding it as best I could until well after he became Thunderstrike and got his own book. I usually like something about legacy characters when they assume the mantle of a hero, there was nothing I liked about Erik Masterson, his time as Thor, or his other heroic identity after Thor was restored.
