My reading definitely dipped in September as I returned to work remotely while the kids returned to online learning. Lots more work for me. Fortunately/unfortunately, I began Family Medical Leave on Wednesday for a variety of reasons, and that should hopefully leave me with a little more time for reading/reviewing. Time will tell. Hope everything is ok good sir. -M Thanks, my good man. I'm in no immediate medical danger myself. It's a convergence of my school district returning to in-person learning while the county is on orange alert and I have a known history of immuno-issues, as well as my mother's ability to live independently becoming more in doubt. Scary times (especially going without a paycheck with five mouths to feed), but there is a lot of hope.

Scary times means holding close to loved ones and having faith that things return to more functionality after this chaotic year. Hang in there friend, I made it through my rough river ride (done mostly alone) so trust and believe in your family and know you can survive, endure and overcome! Plus, any excuse providing time to read a few comic books can't be all bad!

Read more comics this month than the previous few, but still spending more of my reading time with prose than comics.
I liked just about everything I read in October, the highlights include Frazetta's Jonny Comet, Wood's Cannon, Kubert's Firehair, Toth's Bravo for Adventure and several of the better stories from the Creepy volume, and Matt Baker's Canteen Kate, Dragon's Teeth #1 (especially the Toth story) and Department of Truth #1.
Tier 2 included the early Ghost Rider stuff from Spotlight, the early Jonah Hex stuff from the first Showcase volume I read, DNAgents issues 13-18, Seven Secrets #2, and the lesser Toth stories from the Creepy volume.
Nothing I disliked, just some stuff stood out over the others.

October was the biggest reading month of the year with 160. I made the effort to read 6 issues in a row of various series in my collection over my 2 week vacation. I read Michelinie/Romita Jr/Layton Iron Man ( 120-125) and it was just as good as when I read it the first time. Miracleman 1-9 was awesome and I read classic Lee/ Buscema ( 110-116) which included the Hulk fight and the Overmind arc. Good stuff. I started to read the Warp series from First comics. Surprisingly good character work with the principals , the only slight negative was some swipey art by Frank Brunner.

This was my biggest month since May. Partly due to reading Lady Killer, partly a re-read for my "Gone too Soon" thread (that I haven't written up yet). And partly an Archie Americana trade.

November wrap up: Eclipsed the 1000 mark this month, so made my goal with a month to spare.
Highlights of November-Jonah Hex Showcase Vol. 1 and early Marvel Conan the Barbarian (#1-56)
I also wrapped up the first DNAgents series, and the first 12 of Crossfire, which I enjoyed, but I wasn't in the mood to continue, so I took a break and will circle around the finish Crossfire and the second DNAGents series at some point.
The only new stiff was some Black Hammer stuff and the first issue of the Dune prequel comic, which I enjoyed, but were just that, nothing special.
Nothing I didn't at least enjoy this month.

Only read 18 comics this month, but I did get in 17 reviews, which is my high for the year. Considering I'm doing all this while holding three kids' hands through remote learning, I think I did pretty okay. By far, the best thing I read this month was Cary Burkett's run on Batgirl in Detective Comics. I also got to read Batman: A Word to the Wise and count it among the most unusual comics in my collection. Honestly, I enjoyed nearly everything I read this month. Just wish I'd had time to read more of it.

My November numbers are not correct. I know I read a few books while I had the 'Rona that didn't get written down. Oh well.

I read 78 books in November and with 837 books read in 2020, I doubt I will reach 1000 for the year. This last month I was able to finish the Warp series from First comics. It wasn't a bad series. I read the WC Avengers series from the 80's in digital form . Englehart was really overwriting this series and it hurt the flow of the book. Too much superfluous comments by the cast.

Another horrific month for me, reading just 19 books after getting through only 22 in October. Was well on track at the end of September to read close to 1200 this year, now will be lucky to hit 1000 (which was my original goal, but still).
Part of it is me playing A LOT of Contest of Champions online. Just completely addicted to it right now. Was also finishing up Supernatural and been catching up on The Mandalorian, and went to play Magic: The Gathering on a couple of Friday nights. Too many interests competing for time.
Also, not inspired by anything in my collection at the moment. Was reading Amazing Spider-Man from the beginning but kind of lost interest. Thought about picking up Daredevil around issue #65 (read the previous issues a couple of years ago) and reading the rest of the series but haven't even looked at it. Considering maybe Fantastic Four from the beginning but haven't opened the first Omnibus yet. Wanted to read Tomb of Dracula but haven't been in the mood.
Hoping that December brings me some new-found enthusiasm.

Working tonight, so won't get any more read for the month/year.
Equivalent of 95 read in December, a little over 1100 for the year.
Highlights of December:
-It Rhymes with Lust -Reckless OGN -Bang -Something is Killing the Children -Wynd -Conan the Barbarian -Marvel Feature-Red Sonja
and that's a wrap for 2020.

Well I suspect I won't be reading any more funnybooks tonight. So it's the end of the year.
December was, by far the biggest month of the year. Overall around 534 comics for the year. The Vertigo imprint and DC made up a fair chunk of them. Crime comics were the biggest genre.
Happy New Year and we will catch you in the new thread.
