Lois Lane #6 Written by Greg Rucka Art by Mike Perkins Summary: Lois mourns the loss of her father...who died in another book. Plot: This book came out of the gate so strong, I absolutely loved the characterization of Lois and the fantastic mood of mystery and tension...but it's become a mess lately, to the point that I can't even remember what the mystery was. I don't know if it's because of an error in Rucka's plotting or if it's editorial interference forcing him to deal with continuity issues happening elsewhere in the DCU but it's absolutely detrimental to the story at hand. Art: It's been an issue since the start, but it was obvious here again; Perkins draws all his women the same. In one scene I couldn't tell Zatana from Lois and at the end Lois' sister just looked like Lois with blonde hair. It's weird, because he brings a lot of character to his male characters...but can't bring any variety to his female figures which is a big deal on a female focused book. Grade:5/10

Usagi Yojimbo #7Story and Art by Stan Sakai Summary: Usagi happens upon Gen and Stray Dog and gets roped into their latest bounty scheme but they end up foiled by a foxy friend. Plot: This was a delightful one and done adventure that reunited our favorite rabbit ronin with his old friends Gen and Stray Dog. I've always loved these three together and it's been a long while since we last saw them so it made for a refreshing read, even if the plot was a little simplistic and the twist at the end was a lot of fun; giving us a brief glimpse of yet another old friend who's just trying to make her way in the world. Art: I really loved how progressively haggard our heroes looked as they encountered the bandit gang again and again while trying to return the stolen swords. The repetition itself was a fun visual gag, but to see them actually suffer consequences from repeated battles was even better. Grade:8/10
