My youngest son is really struggling with being at college during October. He's a big Halloween fan. While it's not really a big deal for me, he loves it.
Generally watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and will usually binge on the Treehouses of Horror.
When he was younger we would read A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny reading each entry on the corresponding day.

Synchronicity abounds, I just found a copy of that Zelazny book at the Good Will I stopped at this afternoon. -M

I remember the days of Ben Cooper costumes... There is apparently a documentary on Ben Cooper, et. al, costumes that was recently released. I've not had a chance to see it yet.

I think it's called Halloween in a Box or something similar. I've seen several folks talking about it but haven't seen it myself yet either. -M

On October 30th (Halloween Eve) ... as a family we make Caramel Apples for the neighborhood kids for a party on Halloween from 4pm to 7pm. We make enough of them so our family can have one too. This is our new tradition that we started last year.

My adult daughters asked us to do a Halloween party this year like we used to when they were in high school. So we are having a costume party for the first time in 6 yrs.
