More proof that with the right creative team any character can be made interesting. Very true, though I've enjoyed previous stories focused on both Lois and Jimmy in the past. Both Curt Swan and Jack Kirby had great runs on Jimmy Olsen, though if I think the closest thing in the past to this run was Nick Spencer's back up from Action Comics a few years back. Hmmmm. Maybe I like Jimmy Olsen more than I thought. I too liked the Spencer story. Jack Kirby stories. And some of his stories in Superman Family.

He's definitely a bit of a sleeper, not a character that would spring to mind immediately when compiling a list of comic book favorites but there are a lot of great stories told through him.

Anyone else pick up Inferior 5 this week? Definitely not what you'd expect from an I5 comic.
Over at Marvel, HoX/PoX continues to be compulsive reading

Over at Marvel, HoX/PoX continues to be compulsive reading I'm still reading HoX/PoX and although the ideas are interesting I feel like it's less and less likely that Hickman will come to a satisfactory conclusion.

It's not like the words 'Hickman' and 'satisfactory conclusion' are antonyms or anything. Wait.. (sorry... just had to...)

I got some stuff today... I read through I think it was Power of X at the store... the whole issue seemed to be him explaining how they were resurrecting people, like it was a gamemaster's guide and we needed the rules. It was interesting (I LOVE that Gold Balls and Hope are useful!) but not really a story.

Yeah, and for an event billed as an in for people who have wanted to get back into X-Men it's not doing a whole lot to dispell the notion that it's a big convoluted mess.

I'm actually hoping the point of explaining the "resurrections" through cloning leads to an event (not in terms of a cross-over but just a happening in the book) where the genetic matrix is destroyed and it leads to a "dead is dead" situation, as Xavier has no way to keep creating disposable cannon fodder in the form of his favorite students who have no idea they are Cyclops version 37 or Nightcrawler 29.0. Sadly, that will probably not come to pass, leading to tension-free stories where peril isn't actually perilous since they can always hit the restart button.

Yeah, between the cloning revelation and Moira's restart powers I'm not thinking there will be any lasting changes like that.

Black Hammer: Age of Doom #12Written by Jeff Lemire Art by Dean Ormston Summary: It all comes down to this, the Anti-God has cracked opened up the sky and there is only one way to stop him. Plot: I hate to have to say this as I've loved the book as a whole...but this ending was pretty boring. I'm not an all-star, genius writer so I can't express how I would have ended this any better, but I still can't help feeling that this was an entirely unneeded story. I almost feel like the book should have just ended after they all woke up on the ship and then blipped out of existence. It would have been a downer, sure, but it would have had a much greater impact than the happily ever after we saw here...and somehow there will be more minis? I'm not sure I want more, which is something I couldn't imagine saying just six months ago. Art: Ormston looked as great as always but he had nothing fun to do here which is a shame. Grade:4/10 Yeah...a horrible ending to what started out as a great story and book. Just totally fell flat. I can understand that they're sacrificing themselves again. Maybe when I sit and think about it some more I'll feel better about it. But at first blush it did not work at all. Honestly, this is why I wait on a lot of things anymore. So tired of having a good presentation and it falls apart along the way.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #15 Written by James Tynion IV Main art by Alvaro Martinez Bueno This might have been my favorite read this week. I feel like the book is finally getting back on track. I was a little indifferent about Circe getting the InJustice League Dark together to go toe to toe with the heroes, but Tynion has finally got that spark back with everyone trying to figure out what's going on, and Wonder Woman leading the charge with the little information she has to go on. All the meanwhile, Circe and her crew are operating behind the shadows setting up what seems to be a preemptive strike. I'm exciting once again to see where it goes.
