I don't know.. done well... a Bigby/Batman 'first the fight, then the team up' story in silver age fashion could be pretty good.. could be terrible, too, but I"ll deifnitely check it out. Are they really starting at #151?? That's crazy!! If Willingham has more stories to tell, I'm definitely excited to read them. I agree the 2nd half of the run wasn't as brilliant as the first half, but there were still some great moments.. even at it's worst Fables is better than most other stuff out there. Yeah, I'm not usually huge on crossovers but that actually sounds like it could be decent. Looks I have an excuse to re-read Fables.

Since I know not everybody checks out the art forum here, I wanted to just briefly mention that my new comic Cthulhu vs Uncle Sam is now live on Kickstarter. Written by me, art by Jay Piscopo (though I did draw some of the variant covers). At the height of World War II, a group of cultists attempt to summon Cthulhu. Only one person can save the world: Uncle Sam! Thanks for the support everyone!

Loeb and Sale are reuniting for Batman: The Long Halloween Special in October. With the two-part movie recently releasing, I've wanted to do a reread of TLH and DV, but this only makes me want to get to reading even more.

Wish they’d put that out before they released the omnibus. Long Halloween is my favorite Batman story, so I’ll check that out for sure.

Just a quick note that the Kickstarter campaign for my comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam ends on Monday. Just a head's up in case you are interested but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Thanks again for all the support, everyone!!

not sure, the previous volumes started in the 70s and moved forward into the 80 in terms of time frame, and there's been a little time jump in between each volume, so the timing could be right for it. -M

Looks like Wizard World Chicago this October will be the last Wizard World convention ever. Wizard World is shuttering its convention business and has sold it's 5 largest shows to Fan Expo who will take over those shows in 2022. I've never been to a Wizard World (their ticket prices were usually more than my entire budget for some shows I go to), so I am ambivalent to this personally, but it is the end of an era and I know a lot of folks within my comic circles who had a lot of experience (both good and bad) as Wizard World shows. The purchase makes Fan Expo the largest con organizer in the US, but again I've never been to a Fan Expo show (I think there's one in Cincinnati but I've never made it down there for a show), so I am not sure what kind of experience it would be. -M

With his DC Exclusive deal ending earlier this year and DC deciding not to continue his Jinxworld creator-owned line as they consolidate their publishing line, Brian Michael Bendis has struck a deal with Dark Horse to move his Jinxworld imprint there, with new titles forthcoming and new collected editions of previous works. Some of the new stuff sounds interesting and I missed most of his creator owned stuff when he was at DC form '17-'21, so I may check some of that out. -M

I'm loving what I've seen of Jeff Lemire's and Dustin Nguyen's new book Robin and Batman:

I like some of the artwork in these samples but Robin as a character holds even less interest for me than Batman does. But I'll have to keep an eye out for Dustin Nguyen's work and also have a look at what else he<s done in the past.
