Kraven the Hunter was always one of my favourite Spidey villains. Whilst he did sometimes tackle others (e.g. the Beast), he pretty much stuck to hunting Spider-Man. There was a story where he hunted the second Vulture (at the same time as hunting Spidey). But growing up, I always felt he should have been going after all sorts of characters, being a hunter and all that. This is coming soon: www.cbr.com/amazing-spider-man-hunted-2019-teaserAre writers going to finally expand Kraven's horizons and fulfil his potential? In recent times, it has been great to see Kraven go after the likes of Venom and Captain America. Like I stated, I know he has often gone after other opponents, but I always felt there could be bigger "game" for the character. As a kid, I was often hoping he'd expand his horizons. Why wouldn't he go after the Lizard? Or Wolverine? Or even the Hulk? Hopefully the "Hunted" storyline will give us lots of Kraven vs the Marvel Universe action (I like the idea, judging by that picture, of him going after animal-themed villains). Thoughts?

I'm still annoyed that someone thought ressurecting Kraven the Hunter after his death in the excellent "Kraven's Last Hunt" was a good idea. This was yet another bright idea that the so-called Spider-Man Brain Trust ("no brain" trust more like!) inflicted on the readership during the Godawful Brand New Day era.

He was a Squirrel Girl supporting character for a little while. He will never improve on that!

While this might serve as a notch on Kraven's belt, I'm not sure how the villains jobbing to him are supposed to benefit. KGBeast and Killer Croc for instance, were once considered Batman's equal. As such, when Chuck Dixon wanted to sell people on his own character, Bane, he had Bane take these two down effortlessly. Great for Bane, but it meant KGBeast and Croc became third rate villains. So what happens to, say, Rhino after this story if he's simply one of the numerous villains Kraven took down on his way to taking down someone else?

That's a wrestling term, right? I like that you used it! I am intrigued by Kraven VS Lizard, I must say.

I always liked the idea of Kraven, for some reason. I even thought his costume looked cool - it's certainly unique, at least. Probably they've already done this by now, since I gather he's more of an anti-hero than an out and out villain these days, but I used to think they should make him one of these enlightened hunters who sees the big ecological picture, understands the need for conservation, and so on.

If Kraven struggles taking down Rhino but eventually prevails on the way up the chain, it serves to strengthen both characters. Kraven overcame a tough foe who has given Spider-Man and The Hulk difficulty, and Rhino looks good if he gives Kraven a battle, because Rhino has usually been portrayed as little more than a human battering ram while Kraven is a savvy and cunning hunter. It sells Rhino as giving Kraven as much as he could handle and only through superior skill or weaponry, or just plain old dumb luck, was Kraven able to prevail, If Kraven "one punches" Rhino into submission, then it surely minimizes Rhino's viability as a threat going forward unless Kraven is established as an A-Lister at the top of the foodchain, as there is no shame in losing quickly to a guy like that.

I wish we could see a DC/Marvel crossover featuring Kraven VS Hawkman.

Didn't he used to have an "elephant punch", or something like that - a special blow that could stop an elephant in its tracks if he it it in just the right spot or something?
I agree on the general point though. Nothing in superhero comics turns me off more than that old easy out of boosting one character at the expense of another. It doesn't matter who it is, whether I've heard of them before or not, or even if a favourite is the one getting the boost, it always bugs me and helps ruin my enjoyment of the story.

You can mark me down as someone who thinks Kraven's Last Hunt is somewhat over-rated. I don't mind it a bit that that he came back from the dead. My favorite Kraven story:
