Retroactively altering the FF's origin, someone saves Phoenix and finds Captain America before the Avengers, and convinced Peter to go back to Spidey after he famously trashed it in an alley.
Could be interesting

Yeah they seem to be doing some of this lately.
The timing seems suspicious to me being so closely followed after Stan's death.
Maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there, however, I'm not just going to jump on this.
I'll fall back and see what happens.

It was all just teases for this mini-series... which is more of a standalone thing like the Deadpool/Secret Wars mini they did a year or so back that comically put Deadpool into the empty corners of the existing story. It looks like it's being played for laughs rather than a serious attempt to rewrite Marvel history, so fanboys can unclench. More What If? meets What Th-? than a Marvel Crisis. -M

Does this mean more titles being renumbered yet again?
I do like retcons in fiction - when they make sense or add something to the mythos. We'll see.

@taxidriver1980 ... I detest retcons in any comic books because they always threw me a curveball that I don't care for. I learned of that in a HARD WAY here and literally made me in an unhappy place in the world of comics.

I try to judge each one on its own merits.
If it was revealed that Norman Osborn and Uncle Ben had been in cahoots - and attempted to ensure the radioactive spider bit Peter Parker, but then Uncle Ben changed his mind and his murder was actually down to Osborn, well NO!!!
If, however, some compelling new reason for Krypton's destruction was given, and it made sense, I might get on board with something like that.

This is about as permanent as Captain America being a Hydra agent or Voyager being an original Avenger.

This is about as permanent as Captain America being a Hydra agent or Voyager being an original Avenger. Less. It's the equivalent of Fred Hembeck Destroys the Marvel Universe, or Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe type books. it's not a continuity altering event or even an "in continuity" story. Just someone telling a story* -M *this applies to any comic but for some reason comic folks like to distinguish between "imaginary" imaginary stories and "real" imaginary stories

According to my LCS, many of the Marvel Comics readers are quite unhappy of these changes and they basically going to Dynamite, DC Comics, and checking more and more into Comics that are created after 2012 and many of them are going to Dark Horse, Image, and others. Marvel Comics sales are down 22 percent from last quarter. I know the owner of the store -- on a personal basis and he's fed up with Marvel.
The New Fantastic Four -- has been a FAILURE at my store and the owner told Marvel Comics to stop sending them starting in January and the fans of FF are advised to go to the other LCS to get them by mail. That's one store in the Pacific Northwest and couple other stores are following suit.

I have to say that I was just thinking how meh the FF is.
I'm still along at least for a little while.
Sounds like Sara Pichelli is leaving as artist. Didn't care for her here though I liked her on the Ultimate titles.
