I just saw this on Bleeding Cooland what got my attention was a new war comic by Garth Ennis with Steve Epting on art... There are two waves of four books each planned and some interesting looking stuff beyond the Ennis/Epting book. There;s a new creator-owned series by Jeff Lemire in the second wave as well, and some interesting looking concepts form creators I am less familiar with. I will likely check some of these out. -M

I have some Christmas money coming and I may well pick up some of the trades on these, after I sample the first issues to see which I like.

Just read the first issues.
I'm in the Dr Fang and Sara.
Pass on the other two; not bad though, just not my thing.

It's looking good. At this point I am pretty much buying all Garth Ennis books automatically. I just finished Troubled Souls, was expecting another hilarious prequel to 'The Shite Before Christmas' (which is ~16th book in Dicks series; a Winter Special :-)) but it ain't comedy at all - it's a full fledged tragedy. It's sad and sorrowful Irish story, and it effortlessly deconstructs terrorism (people that study terrorism should read it) and of course by the end all main characters are dead or in exile/prison so series continues with side characters (from the 1st issue) who take over as main characters. [One of them is an idiot who tried to be a terrorist but shot himself in the foot, even before all the other guys were involved.]
