DC:
Action Comics - Bendis did an amazing job on this title which showcases more street level stories and Clark interacting with the Daily Planet staff. His Superman title was a little underwhelming despite beautiful art by Ivan Reis. Mostly because of the generic villain Rogol Zaar.
Adventures of the Super Sons - Tomasi writes them so well. This is a fun title.
Hawkman - this title surprised me. Venditti and Hitch are revamping the Hawkman mythos in a fresh and exciting way.
The Terrifics - Lemire made this a throwback Silver Age feel title.
Titles I think will be good in 2019 - The Green Lantern. Shazam. Young Justice.
Marvel:
The Immortal Hulk - Ewing and Bennett have created a stellar approach to this title that is a great mix of action and horror and suspense.
Amazing Spider-Man - While Spencer had an uneven start on this title he seems to be settling in and his stories have felt old school.
Daredevil - Soule has had a classic run on DD.
2 titles I really wanted to like but have been underwhelmed by? Captain America and Fantastic Four.
Others:
Archie by Waid and now by Spencer has been one of my favorite series the last 3 years.
Dynamite has not been on my pull list for awhile but I now have 3 titles that they publish. The Lone Ranger. Project Super Powers. And in 2019 Turok.
And while Valiant's X-O Manowar slipped a bit in quality this past year it is still one of my favorite titles.

Mine would beHawkman The Terrifics Archie I am trying to like the Terrifics... but it is stretching my patience. It took me awhile and it was Plastic Man and Metamorpho really made this series special and I had a hard time dealing with Mr. Terrific and I had some difficulty with it. I felt that the costume of Phantom Girl needs some re-work and my friends at the LCS told me to deal with it and gradually embraced this group. It was an excellent DC Comics concept of the Fantastic Four and I felt that it was unique and done just right. I wished that they added more colors to the costumes except Metamorpho.

I've got a huge backlog of stuff from this year that I haven't gotten around to reading yet, so my answer could change once I catch up, but of the stuff I read, my favorites would be:
Gideon Falls Hawkman Hope (self published comic by Dirk Manning and K. Lynn Smith) Green Lantern Earth One Vol. 1 OGN Barrier Crossroad Blues OGN Cosa Nostro (self-published by Dirk Manning and Dan Dougherty)
I still have My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies, all the Sandman Universe stuff and a hist of other things to get to from this year, so some could be added to the list.

I did enjoy Green Lantern Earth One too and it was done quite excellent and loved the way they handled it.

I forgot Black Hammer; that definitely is on my list.
I'm sure Astro City would be too based on past performance but I've fallen behind.
Similarly, at least half of Valiant's output would be on my list as well.

I've got a huge backlog of stuff from this year that I haven't gotten around to reading yet, so my answer could change once I catch up, but of the stuff I read, my favorites would be: Gideon Falls Hawkman I probably should have included these two. Gideon Falls has been really solid. And Hawkman is just a joy for old-timers.

Immortal Hulk is ticking many boxes for me.
It reflects so many incarnations that I love. There's the horror elements found in early Jack Kirby's run, the TV era (there is a McGee looking into things), plus a dollop or two from other eras.
It's almost like a "love letter" to all that has come before.

Add Hey Kids! Comics to the list from Howard Chaykin over at Image
If anyone didn't follow comics back story with the creators, I doubt they would like it, but those of us that know comics history will enjoy it.
I love it ! Pure Howard "cynical" Chaykin, but great stuff.
Highest recommendation
