My vote for best book over the last 10 years is Thor. Well, Jason Aaron's Thor, across God of Thunder, Mighty and just plain ole Thor. To be fair I would extend that back to the JMS reboot, and would end it before the current volume which Im not really digging. A very well written, beautifully drawn, and surprisingly human look at the Norse gods.
For a left field option I loved Manhattan Projects by Jonathan Hickman, and as a really out there choice try a little ONI book called The Life After.
As for Saga, Im in the OMFG-I-love-it camp.

The Death-Defying Dr Mirage Death was just the beginning... Doctor Mirage talks to the dead...but the only spirit Shan Fong can't find is that of her late husband, Hwen. Instead, America's favorite semi-retired paranormal investigator is haunted and raw, using her gift to solve homicides and bring peace to the recently bereaved. But when a big-time occultist with a classified military past hires her for a special job, Shan discovers a lead that might close the greatest mystery she's ever tackled - how to get Hwen back. Now, Doctor Mirage must enter the undiscovered country and cross all the realms of the underworld, if she has any hope of rescuing the man she loves...or be forever lost beyond the earthly plane. Deathmatch THE SUPERHERO BATTLE ROYALE YOU CAN'T GET FROM MARVEL OR DC! A powerful and mysterious supervillain has imprisoned the world's greatest superheroes, forcing them to fight to the death until there is but one victor. It's kill or be killed as we settle the score on all those hypothetical superhero match-ups in the ultimate DEATHMATCH. Written by industry legend Paul Jenkins (SENTRY, INHUMANS) and drawn by comics superstar Carlos Magno (PLANET OF THE APES, TRANSFORMERS), DEATHMATCH is a dark, psychological deconstruction of the superhero genre that can't be missed. FBP : Federal Bureau of Physics It started small: temporary gravity failures, time reversal loops, entropy reversals. Then it got big. With much fanfare a new government agency was formed with a mandate "to prevent and protect." Its official title: The Federal Bureau of Physics. This is the story of Special Agent Adam Hardy. Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. Frankenstein is part of a network of strange beings that work for an even stranger government organization. But can he protect the world from threats even more horrifying than himself? The line between monster and hero blurs in this series written by Jeff Lemire (SWEET TOOTH)! Hawkman Spinning out of the events of DARK NIGHTS: METAL, Carter Hall returns to the DC Universe! An explorer of the ancient and unknown, Hawkman finds himself embroiled in a long-standing mission to discover the true purpose of his many reincarnations.

Some great stuff in here that all deserves to be read.. Aaron's Thor is definitely up there. I loved Southern Bastards at first, but delays and lack of focus have kinda derailed it, IMO. Another one worth consideration is the Nameless City Trilogy by Faith Erin Hicks... definitely doesn't get enough credit.

No longer content to demand a better future, he will recruit a violent legion from the darkest corners of the Earth to fight for it. Invincible Mark Grayson is teenage superhero Invincible. He was a normal high school senior with a normal part-time job and otherwise normal life, except his father Nolan is the superhero Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. At the age of 17, Mark begins to display superpowers, which come from his father being a member of the Viltrumite race, who, according to Nolan, pioneer the galaxy on a mission of benevolence and enlightenment. As Invincible, Mark begins working as a superhero, with his father acting as his mentor, and meeting other heroes. Mark worked occasionally with a superhero team called the Teen Team (consisting of Robot, Rex Plode, Dupli-Kate and Atom Eve), from there discovering that his Physics teacher has been turning his students into human bombs. He stops his teacher with the help of the heroine, Atom Eve. Ivar, Timewalker From the New York Times best-selling team of Fred Van Lente and Clayton Henry comes a centuries-spanning race against the clock, straight out of the pages of ARCHER & ARMSTRONG! Prehistoric empires! Dystopian futures! And everywhere in between! The past, present, and future of our universe are about to meet an untimely end, and only the mysterious Ivar Anni-Padda can prevent all three from collapsing in on themselves. Unstuck in time, and pursued by enemies simultaneously across every moment of his time-lost life, can the man called Timewalker save everything that ever was, is, and will be? Get ready for a clock-stopping odyssey into the distant past and far future as the most unlikely Valiant hero of all leaps into his first history-ripping adventure! Locke & Key Acclaimed suspense novelist and New York Times best-selling author Joe Hill (Heart-Shaped Box) creates an all-new story of dark fantasy and wonder: Locke & Key. Written by Hill and featuring astounding artwork from Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all... Prison Pit 122 Pages! Prison Pit is an original graphic novel from the pen of Johnny Ryan, best known for his humor comic, Angry Youth Comix. Prison Pit represents a marked departure from AYC or his Blecky Yuckerella weekly comic strip, combining his love for WWE wrestling, Gary Panter's "Jimbo" comics, and Kentaro Miura's "Berserk" Manga into a brutal showcase of violence, survival and revenge. Imagine a blend of old-fashioned role playing fantasy games like Dungeons & Dragons crossed with contemporary adult video games like Grand Theft Auto, filtered through Ryan's sense of humor. The book begins with C.F. (his full-name would be too horrifying to reveal here) being thrown into the Prison Pit, a barren negative-zone populated by intergalactic, violent monster criminals.

I have not read much, but I will sound another note in favor of Saga for ambition, creativity, and pathos. Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl are less ambitious and will not be revered classics but are charming all the same. I also like Jupiter’s Legacy/Jupiter’s Circle, a thinly veiled pastiche of the notion that the children of Superman and Wonder Woman would grow up under ridiculous expectations.
Also, some of my favorite Astro City issues are relatively recent.

Also, some of my favorite Astro City issues are relatively recent. Of all the books mentioned, I think Ms. Marvel will have the biggest impact in the long run because of where it is selling-the Scholastic market and Comixology. With the Scholastic sales, kids in schools are buying and reading these books. When they become older readers and are looking at their own nostalgic favorites, it will be Ms. Marvel they remember reading as a kid, not Spider-Man, Batman, Superman et. al. There will be a generation who's go to super-hero character will be Ms. Marvel eventually (just as their go-to format will be trades and/or digital not monthly periodicals). This generation will not have been introduced to super-heroes via monthly periodicals and will not be attached to that format. They will have read Ms. Marvel in trades gotten form Scholastic alongside things like Dog Boy in book format, bought in places besides newsstands or comic shops. How a customer/reader is first introduced to something has a lasting impact and can influence the market for a couple of generations. The way our generation first encountered comics is reaching the nadir of its influence. The way customers bought comics in the Golden and Silver Age influenced the way comics were sold for a couple of generations, but things started changing in what we call the Bronze Age with the start of the direct market, which then grew and itself and eventually ended the dominance of the newsstand/spinner rack mass market sales as the preeminent way comics reached customers, and for the next couple of generations, the comics shop/direct market model had its era of dominance. We are seeing changes to that market model over the last decade, and customers are not experiencing comics first at comic shops but in other formats and markets and comic shops will eventually go the way of newsstands when they no longer serve a purpose in the marketplace to sell comics effectively to a large audience of consumers. Something else will have grown to replace them, and that too will be replaced eventually in time too, it's the nature of the marketplace. -M

It ran for years and years. For kids of today it is the MCU. It will be interesting to see how long Ms. Marvel holds her position. Is G. Willow Wilson going to keep doing that for Marvel once she starts Wonder Woman for DC?

The Boys were pretty great (can't believe 10 years passed already). It's 'men on a mission' type of thing, unlike Saga that is open-ended/chronicles.
Loved the Bouncer, old Jodo is still the best. Finally good western series after along while. (Speaking of witch.. El Topo 2.0 was published already, English translation announced for December.)
Scarlet is great but not too many issues. (Bendis needs to 'come out' and do more of his own stuff.)

That's a very Slavic-sounding name and surname for a Hungarian. Not saying it's impossible, just unlikely. The first name, at least, should be Elias instead of Iliya. I know, it's nitpicking, but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine
That said, it looks like a fun comic. I love Gallego's John-Buscemesque art style.
It's a delightfully amusing series; the epitome of why we dabble with new characters and creators in the search for something new and fresh.
I could re-read it again and again. Definitely worth pursuing IMO from the outstanding Humanoids imprint. Bulletproof Coffin Relive the Golden Age of comics! The Legendary Kane and Hine return to their greatest creations! SEE! Coffin Fly Vs. Zombie Nam Vets! The Shield of Justice walks the Dead Beat! The Unforgiving Eye sees all, forgives nothing! Red Wraith: He's red! He's dead! Ramona: Buxom, Beautiful and Bound! Big 2 Publishing, eat your heart out! Buttle Coffin would defineitly be one of my favourites of the last few years. I only wish there were more of it!

One of the best.
It really deserves more attention.
I'd have never known about it except for being on Comixology, where you can see practically anything that's put out instead of all the mainstream stuff, because of the way the direct market is set up with retailers having to buy everything up front and no one having unlimited resources and 99% of stores ordering what they know will turn instead of introducing titles from little known imprints and creators.
