Venom admiring his more comic accurate custom feet by Anthony Customs on YouTube. Surprised he got the texture from the movie Venom body so close. They snapped on fairly easily after I warmed it up with a hair dryer.

Seriously one of the best Marvel Legends ever. HasbroPulse delivered my Retro Card Spiral on Friday and I finally had time to sit down and open it. Only complaint upon opening it is the reuse of the golden weapons from the 2016 Marvel's Angela.

An exciting "pile of loot" showed up today! Here's the "all in shot": First off, I can NOT believe I actually have the Mezco "Superman: The Mechanical Monsters (1941)" set, I had truly given up on this getting released. Was it worth the wait? Truthfully, it's "ok". The figures are really small, the paint apps are not bad for the small scale, Lois initially had some tilt to her torso that I've been bending out and looks a little better now. The box art was pretty low res too, kind of surprised me. BUT...it's still fairly cool all that said, I don't regret purchasing. Some pictures: The phone booth is cool because it has two interior chambers and the base rotates, you can put Superman one side and Clark on the other and then rotate it to do the "quick change". A couple more shots: Holy Toledo! It's time for another Gumby abduction! The Popeye stuff is just killer. Love the B&W version on the left (I must have been in a Fleischer mood with this and the Superman set!), and while the Jeep was the biggest reason I wanted the Castor figure, I love having him as well. I did not read the print strips until much later and became really intrigued with his character. And last but most certainly not least...Yaz!! I could not resist picking him up.

I shall not be offended if you pass that baseball figure to me. Well done on getting that Superman set. Nice find! Thank you sir! Yeah, the baseball figure was such a random find, I grew up watching Yastrzemski during the latter part of his career, I was thrilled to get this one.

This figure showed up today, it has a little bit of a story to it. Ages ago I saw it show up on BBTS who is the exclusive retail seller of this particular line from Fresh Monkey Fiction. The character literally only had one appearance during the Golden Age, an 8 page story in Captain Flight Comics #11 in 1947 (excerpt below). I had never heard of the story or otherwise seen the character before, but loved the visual (probably the obvious "blue Human Torch" look grabbing me). But I kept waffling month after month...it didn't fit into anything else I was collecting, and you can't buy everything, though I would keep checking back to see if it was in stock. Which it was...until it wasn't. Then the collector "frenzy mode" kicked in and I realized how much I actually wanted it. You could still buy it in a case of 8 figures from BBTS, but it would be $110 (great price actually since it was 50% off overall), but honestly I didn't want the other 7 figures. I checked eBay, and the only one available was $60. Too much. Then I checked Fresh Monkey Fiction's site on a whim, and lo and behold, they had it available at regular retail. And now that I have it in hand, I think it looks great! Below that, I also took an updated group shot of my Popeye figures now that Wimpy has landed.
