An overdue, but nevertheless sincere thanks to everyone who voted this year.

I enjoy being part of a group so diverse, so bright, so appreciative of the companionship of others so unashamed of their love for reading of all kinds, whether it's an Asimov story, a Joe Lansdale mystery, 15th-century Istanbul, the Justice Society of America, or Brother Power the Geek. Rarely is one able to surround himself with folks who can pivot from Proust to Princess Projectra in a nano-second.

Thank you all, and I will strive to scour what's left of my memory of life in the Stone Age of comics, and be funnier than ever in this coming year.

I was just hit right in the kisser with a pie.

I'm using my tie as a napkin to wipe pie from my face.

Now I'm wiping shaving cream from my eyes with my fingers while sputtering.

Why don't I hear anyone laughing?

Good thing we don't vote again till next June.
