Mera #5: political intrigue, family drama, betrayal...this issue has it all! Lots of behind the scenes moments and I loved the scenes with Mera and her former mentor. The final pages....we see just what a noble and brave heroine Mera is. I really hope Ocean Master hasn’t shown his true colors as I want him to have a happy life with his surface family...and I want Mera and Aquaman to be happy too. I have a terrible feeling there will be little happiness in the conclusion. 8.5/10

Mata Hari #4Written by Emma Beeby Art by Ariela Kristantina Summary: Taken to the breaking point Mata Hari finally tells her captors she's ready to confess. Plot: At first I thought it was just the fact that this issue was delayed that my enjoyment of it was less than previous issues, but I've read it several times now(once after reading the previous three issues) and I think more than that it's due to this issue feeling like set up rather than a story in its own right. The previous issues, while definitely part of a larger whole, were satisfying reads in and of themselves telling discreet and distinct chapters of Mata Hari's past and while this issue does contain it's own chapter in her life it feels rushed in order to build up to the later issues. Art: As disappointing as the narrative was Kristantina is still at the top of her game. The motion in she gives to Mata Hari's dances is absolutely fantastic in its subtlety. Grade:6/10

Thor #2. Written by Jason Aaron. Art by Michael Del Mundo. Thor, Loki & Balder in Hel! I don't what to say. This issue felt like a mess to me. It felt disorganized. I felt like Aaron was trying to make it funny & it fell flat. The art isn't helpful telling the story. I do like Thor's different hammers. I really hope Aaron can get this story back on track. And I hope we get a new artist after this arc. 5/10. For me the big issue is that I just can't get into the whole war of the realms plot; it was only interesting previously because of the strong character moments with Jane but with out that the war isn't focused enough for me to care.
