(...) It's Portland's 24-hour jazz radio station. Currently playing a track from Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain. By far my favorite thing that Miles Davis (and the Gil Evans orchestra for that matter) ever recorded. Love that fusion of jazz and classical. Even the album cover is awesome:

Been listening to this all morning. It's fantastic! I'm a fan of jazz, but am not particularly knowledgeable about anything beyond the greats. I'd been trying to rely on NPR's Jazz All Night for more insight, but I haven't enjoyed their selections anywhere near as much as I'm enjoying this.

Welcome to the KMHD fold! BTW, the letters 'MHD' stand for "Mount Hood District". The station originated at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. A decade or so ago, the station's operations were taken over by our PBS/NPR affiliate, Oregon Public Broadcasting, but the college still holds the FCC license. They play such a wide range of music that there's sure to be something you won't enjoy, but there's so much good stuff. Happy listening!

I've been putting it on at least once a day. It's more the classic stuff that is my comfort zone than what I hear on most jazz stations, though I was a little surprised they played a track from Kind of Blue yesterday. Seemed too mainstream for a self-respecting jazz station, not that I minded!

This is off the album which taught me that it was OK to listen to a song once in a while that isn't a fist-pumping adrenaline booster. I'm sure the local metal station never would have played a single from this if it didn't have the Deep Purple pedigree.
Ian Gillan is the master of writing hard-luck, yet bemused, lyrics.

Been working in the yard all day-- one of my go-to's for yardwork is a Pure Prairie League album shuffle-- which was the case today. These are some of my favorites, which often get the "repeat button" treatment.
and of course...
