Diamond lists its Top 100 Best-Selling Graphic Novels of 2017. Now keep in mind this is Diamond only. So no Amazon. No book stores. Etc. Just some random thoughts. Image is ruling when it comes to LCS graphic novel/collection sales. Watchmen at #14. That book never ends. The only Marvel book in the top 25 is Old Man Logan at #13. A book that's almost 10 years old. I suspect the movie assisted it a bit. Sandman Vol 1 and Preacher Vol. 1 are hanging out there. Evergreen titles for sure. Between Saga and Papergirls Brian K Vaughan is super hot.

My random thoughts...
I am pleasantly surprised Love is Love ranked so high (#27) as it as for a good cause. Of course, the list is a bit of a cipher as there are no totals of units actually moved, so #1 could have sold 50K, 10K or just a thousand to be at the top of the list, so the lack of that context kind of blunts any significance the list has. We know what sells in relation to each other sort of, but not how well anything is selling.

Pleasantly surprised to see Monstress charting that high (top 10). Had hoped to see Coates Black Panther charting higher, but it's still in the Top 100 more than once, so I can't complain.

I would expect both of those (with writers who have followings outside of comics) to do significantly better on Amazon and in the book trade than in Diamond supplied comic shops. -M

But it is interesting to see some relationship between the books and the publishers.
