When DC acquired the Quality characters/books...there really wasn't any continuity in which to insert them. I think most of them were just part of the package that kept the successful war books (including Blackhawk) going. DC didn't do anything with any of them except Blackhawk and Plastic Man for a LONG time.

It's good to see Marvelman / Miracleman back again, and I'll be following him, at least to a point.
When Marvel does eventually revive the Ultraverse characters, I'd be interested to see what they do with them.
I do like the direction Marvel's taken with Angela in the Asgardian corner of the Marvel U.
I wish DC would buy the Gold Key characters.

Interesting, I read somewhere that Roy Thomas created Red Sonja based on a character from the REH books. Does Thomas get any money from her use? From Wikipedia; "Red Sonja was loosely based on Red Sonya of Rogatino, a character from Robert E. Howard's short story "The Shadow of the Vulture" (The Magic Carpet, January 1934). Red Sonya, was a sword-and-pistol-wielding supporting character of the late Renaissance. Roy Thomas rewrote "The Shadow of the Vulture" as a Conan story for Marvel Comics' Conan the Barbarian #23 (1973). Thomas also based Red Sonja on another Howard character, Dark Agnes de Chastillon, a sword woman in 16th-century France.[8]" That original "Shadow of the Vulture" is a Howard story from around the time of the Siege of Vienna that I remember liking very much. Read it in The Sowers of the Thunder anthology years ago.

Well DC acquired the Quality characters, the Fawcett characters and the Charlton characters and introduced them all into the DCU. ...and Milestone and Wildstorm and briefly the Archie super heroes...

I don't know if Angela is the next Deadpool or anything either. I'm just looking for examples, especially since they seem to be so few.

When McFarlane acquired Eclipse Comics he introduced Man of Miracles and The Heap into Spawn continuity.

Whoa, I didn't know McFarlane bought Eclipse. That was one of my favorite publishers when I first got into comics.

Whoa, I didn't know McFarlane bought Eclipse. That was one of my favorite publishers when I first got into comics. Only certain properties. Not anything creator-owned. For instance the Tim Truman stuff like Scout or possibly Evanier's DNAgents and Crossfire
