While pics are nice and wonderful and show what you are talking about some of us cannot post pics. If I could I would post pics, but since I only post from work (hospital) our computer system here doesn't allow for external connections/links/pics so I won't be posting pics. Wish that I could but sorry I can't It says in the entry rules: Keep in mind that these are your personal favorites, not what you or anyone else considers “the best,” and remember: you must explain your choice. You are not required to include pictures of your selections but if you do, please post no more than two images per entry. Would you like me to source pictures for your entries, brutalis? As a moderator, I am able to edit other people's posts, so I could always add an image to your picks after you've posted. If you're not that bothered about having images, no problem, but if you'd like an image accompanying your posts, just let me know. Appreciate the offer Confessor but not having any images doesn't bother me. No need to expend your time and energy seeking out pics for me. All of my choices should be instantly recognizable to most folk here in the CCF.

I just noticed that actual humans are pretty rare on my list. Only three that look human (and one of them is an alien) and one group that are presumably human under the costumes.

I read what you wrote in one of your write-ups coke & comics. I too had problems with the comic strip year and didn't participate and even considered not joining in this year too. But I'm glad I did join in this year and so far, all of your entries are good ones. I started out with about 20 candidates, but I keep discovering new characters and have swapped out one already. I have fallen into the trap of using the "popular " villains and have discovered that the less popular ones have better designs in many cases.

I have fallen into the trap of using the "popular " villains and have discovered that the less popular ones have better designs in many cases. I was certainly going to join this year, and I didn't expect to have the trouble going in. I've made lists of my favorite villains before, which extend quite long. But as I went down the list and asked whether I really appreciated the design aspects, I crossed almost all my favorite villains off and then was staring at a nearly blank list with the clock winding down. That and life commitments are why I was 3 days late with my first entry.

I'm gonna try to find time to participate over the next few days. just from 12-1 (top 12 favorites, right?). my top 3 are a lock, as they have been my favorite villains (mainly due to the designs) for over 30 years. . . now to figure out the remaining 9

As always, my list continues to evolve as the event progresses, as I remember or rediscover something I had forgotten and want to include it or have second thoughts on a design I did include. My day 6 entry was one I had forgotten about until I rediscovered them browsing through long boxes this weekend and had to include them, moving another choice out to the honorable mentions (but that choice got a lot of love form others, so I don't feel so bad).

When making my list, I thought only about characters and filled in who was responsible for the design later, often not being certain. It turned out to be a pleasing list of artists. Without meaning to, there was no artist duplication, and it represents a great cross-section of some of my favorite artists. Coincidence?
Byrne, Starlin, Andru, Finger/Kane, Breyfogle, Nolan, Romita Jr, Sakai, McCloud, J. Buscema, Ditko, Kirby

Man, this yearly celebration is a peek into the forums members minds and tastes. I love it. Some of the picks this year has me just wondering why I didn't read some of the great material on display.

Crazy times. Had my list and then changed 4 after so many had already noted them and I went in the opposite direction from high profile liked villain designs like Loki, Captain Cold, Black Manta, Reverse Flash, Joker, Luthor in armor and looked deeper at the also ran lesser used or known villains. My top 3 spots will hopefully be a large surprise and not suggested from anybody else (at least they haven't shown as yet) in the CCF.
