Writer/artist Sam Glanzman has entered hospice care, after a bad fall and surgery. He isn't doing well. There is an article at Atomic Junk Shop, with details about a Gofundme campaign to help with expenses and to publish a tribute book. Glanzman is one of the last links to the Golden Age of Comics, the Charlton contributors, and the classic DC war stories. He did all kinds of stories and was noted for his autobiographical stories about the USS Stevens and the graphic novel A Sailor's Story, as well as a large body of work on DC's The Haunted Tank, the Charlton series The Lonely War of Capt. Willy Schultz, and Charlton's Hercules series. Please check it out and, if you are inclined, contribute to the campaign. Glanzman was a veteran of World War 2, serving on the actual USS Stevens, in the Pacific, which saw heavy action, which formed the basis for the Stevens stories. He is a great storyteller and a straightforward, no BS kind of guy. If you of a spiritual mind, keep him in your prayers; if not, in your thoughts.

Man I love Glanzman, his USS Stevens stories are some of the best comics I've ever read.
