Thereby reminding me that I still haven't been able, despite numerous trips up to the attic over the past half-decade or so for just that purpose, to find those early issues (starting with #2) of Forced Exposure I know damned well I've still got. Those suckers go for a few dozen bucks each on eBay, or at least did a few years ago when I was liquidating about 95 percent of my punk zine collection.

For those interested in a New Wave, Indie Rock, Electronic sound I recommend the self titled album by Big Black Delta which is the solo project of Mellowdrone singer and bassist Jonathan Bates.

I thought I'd kick things off with this gem to make certain that there is no place to go but up. (Also because I was looking at old YouTube history and forgot about it) After a promising start Robert Downey, Jr. disappeared in mid-late '90 with his drug related problems so did Meg Ryan after nearly a hard core porn scene in the movie "In The Cut" and everyone was asking what happened to them? Don't mind those. I want to know what happened to this chick? The lyrics of the song sound so sincere. Did she loose the only thing that mattered to her that wretched night or not? I have to know.

I'm not sure what happened to her after her early 90's creative apex, but I like to think of her as an alternate universe version of Debbie Harry where the only difference is that she always answered "yes" to the supersize question.

And of course they also "offer beginner’s ukulele workshops for for individuals or groups. We’ll show you some chords and strumming techniques and have you playing along in no time." I demand that ironchimp enroll & report back. as soon as i get back from vegetable orchestra lessons i'll be straight on it.

Oh, I'm pretty sure her answer was "yes", but I don't think she ever got it. ...wait... are we still talking about the same thing?

I'm not a big straight blues fan, though I love a lot of the music that ended up being derived from it in various ways; and I'm not a big Eric Clapton fan post 461 Ocean Blvd; but almost every time I read or hear the phrase "Have you ever ..." -as in the front page thread "Have you ever speculated on a comic" - I immediately hear this song from his 1975 live album E. C. was here:

Not exactly a blues nor a cover tunes fan, either but this closing Instrumental Tribute track from the CD is hard to pass. It contains some of the best performances from great names all in one song. Even Shrapnel Records mogul Mike Varney contributed a solo. Great guitar trade-off's; Rick Derringer/Russell/Varney/Steve Hunter/ Onesko/Pat Travers - Blues For Stevie

I stumbled upon this Beach Boys clip yesterday and thought it was great. Dunno how many Beach Boys fans there are here, but this footage of the "Good Vibrations" recording sessions is just fascinating to watch. There's some awesome footage of Brian Wilson flexing his genius in the recording studio, the Beach Boys laying down those lush harmonies and the Wrecking Crew (Hal Blaine especially) working their session magic.
