I used to have a copy of this. I bet this looked GREAT when it was brand new and the white hadn't turned to dirty milk.

That is a great comic. Lots of fun. I read it in Marvel's Greatest Comics when I was 12 or 13, but I had my own copy years later.

Did you feel #0 would be too on the nose? Yeah, I thought of going with the Zero issue, but it would've been a cop out...at least to me.
I can't imagine ever voting for a blank white cover ...

Alas the cowgirl is not Madame .44 (although that would have been awesome). She is a rodeo performer named Carolee who only appeared in this issue: the latest in a long line of gorgeous women who threw themselves at the disfigured gunfighter. I suspect Coralee's outfit might have been a deliberate tip of the hat to Madame .44, though. Some guys have all the luck. The extent of my knowledge or the character is based on the few (if only two maybe) episodes of Batman TAS he was in. Unlike most boys at a young age, I didn't have the cowboy fantasy. I remember watching westerns with my grandfather, but it never really stuck. I was too busy watching more science fiction with my grandmother and father. But I need to rectify that even if it's checking the library for a TPB to get a feel for the character. There are two Showcase Presents volumes collecting his early appearances which would be my recommendation for checking out to see if you like the character.

Holy Flatman, Batman! Don't you mean very thin three-dimensional people?

The Rainbow Creature! Hoo-ray! (They should have adapted THIS for the boring middle section in The Dark Knight Rises!)

From the last great 80's. Talk about an under-appreciated artist : Terry Beatty !

Wow, he holiday makes today seem like Sunday into Monday not Monday into Tuesday, but it is, and polls are open. Lots of great choices, it came down to two Steranko's and a Toth, for me, but Scott Harris and that Steranko Cap cover get the nod this week.
