Visits to other eras would be brilliant, but I am truly attached to indoor plumbing, dental hygiene and the internet. I'm afraid I'd make a lousy Viking anyway. I agree anything prior to indoor plumbing & dental hygiene would be pretty stinky. I love my hot showers!

Great idea for a thread! I've always thought I would have liked to have been born in the 1920s. I love Big Band music and really would have liked to be in my 30s in the 50s. Love a lot of the culture from back then too.

Love a lot of the culture from back then too. I like Big Band also. And I grew up with my Mom playing the 50's & early 60's music.
I think I like those two eras since my grandparents would have grown up in the 20's/30's & my parents were kids in the mid 1940's& in their mid 20's by the mid 1960's.

I was born in 1966; but, would kind of liked to have been an adult at the start of the 60s, experiencing the Kennedy years and Mercury. The rub is that I'd be older while Vietnam is raging, instead of a little kid who was mostly oblivious to it.

Like some other people, I'd like to shift my birth just a few years. I was born in 1979. I'd like to be born in 1974 or 1975, so I could be older and appreciate certain aspects of culture and history of the 1980s and early 1990s better. Or maybe a little earlier than that and I'd read the Claremont/Byrne X-Men as it was published. Visits to other eras would be brilliant, but I am truly attached to indoor plumbing, dental hygiene and the internet. I'm afraid I'd make a lousy Viking anyway. Yeah, I think romanticizing the "good old days" can overlook many hardships of the past. The flu pandemic of 1918 may have killed as much as 5% of the world's population. But I think I'd like to stop off in the 1930s, with movies with fast-talking dames. Also, it would be cool to see new skyscrapers going up in NYC.

I often wish I'd been born in 1977 instead of 1987. I think I would've gleaned more enjoyment from life as an '80s/'90s kid than I did as a '90s/'00s kid.

I would have been born in the late 50s, only because I think being an adolescent geek in the 70s seems more fun -- my favorite era of comics, and fandoms emerging for just about all my other favorite nerdy things. I would have had a room lined with comics and mego toys, plus a super8 projector for screening golden age horror films I would have ordered out of my Warren mags.

My real choice would be the future, at least to where space exploration would be more prevalent. The idea and opportunity to step onto another world and perhaps even to live there, is awe-inspiring. In fact, I hope I live long enough to see us return to the Moon and travel to Mars.

900 BC.
I'm pretty sure I was meant to be a Shaman in a nomadic, tribal society. I'm perfectly content living in the now, but I'm not sure what to do with myself.

Probably about 10 years earlier so my teenage years could have coincided with the late 90s/early 2000s.

I want to live in a sliding scale timeline like Marvel time where I never aged past 29...(I'd even settle for 39 ). -M

I'm a black man. So I wouldn't want to go too far back, because of...well you know...civil strife. I was born in 1987 in California bay area. I wouldn't mind changing that to 1970 in the same place. By the time I'm a teenager I'd get to enjoy all the big movies of the 80's in theaters along with the 49ers dominating. It would be cool to see Joe Montana play live at Candlestick at the top of his game. Also women in the 80's looked so beautiful in publication. Before the dominance of photoshop and plastic bodywork that has a much bigger presence today among the public. Also, I think people were in better shape in general.

It's got to be a little awkward being around so many folks who idealize an era gone by and, in the process, fail to remember things like that. On behalf of the rose colored glasses scene, "my bad". That being said, it might be cool to be in one of those African American communities that saw distribution of All-Negro Comics back in forties. History in the making.
