Avril is totally punk! I'm pretty sure she knows a guy that owns a skateboard.
(Ok, I don't actually have anything to contribute. I just enjoy saying "Avril." It sounds like a Canadian Tree Badger that is mostly active during the winter months, divided by genus into the Spotted and the Herbaceous Avril.)

I don't know what your tolerance is for "pop-punk" music of the early 2000's, but most of those covers are pretty bad. Most of those bands are about as "punk" as Avril Lavigne. The good thing about library loans that you download is that it only takes a few minutes and its free. I'm willing to experiment and if I don't like it its off to the laptop recycle bin. Or if I'm on the fence I could keep it and it does not take up space. What the hey |

I think of Avril as a nice-sounding name, but it's probably different for us here in Canada, where even Anglos like me are likely to hear it pronounced with a French accent. Don't care for Ms. Lavigne's music, though.
Just discovered a new band that I like the sound of so far, though I think their name is kind of stupid - Fat White Family:
