Twin Peaks has already been mentioned, and it is one of the best but should have been better. My problem with it is the way they cut out the excerpt from the full 5 minute theme for the actual show intro: they come in right in the middle of the tune and ruined the effect of how it builds to a climax from a quiet beginning. I don't mean that they had to use the full 5 minutes, but they should have made the cut with more care for how it creates its effect.
