Here are a couple of my favorites. They use montages of images rather than a narrative, but I think they do a good job of giving you an idea of what you're about to watch.

Great topic, @mrjupiter , I know the Batman show was mentioned, but that moment when the figures morph into the famous Batman logo never fails to entrance me.

Major Steve McQueen fan here--loved Wanted Dead or Alive in reruns.

And the first season of Land of the Giants had such a great, scary to a kid (me) opening. The second season opening was more typical: a mishmash of images pulled from episodes, etc.

Remember this one? (With Mike Pence as Steve Zodiac and Melania Trump as Venus) Oooooh, yeah... but I was more of a Captain Scarlet fan, myself. ( This doesn't count, but I like it anyway!!!)

All those Gerry Anderson shows had good openings. In addition to the ones already posted remember liking Supercar and Captain Scarlet.
edit: oops, posted that while still on page 2 of the thread so I didn't see RR's mention of Captain Scarlet.

This one may take too much time setting up the premise, but I like the theme and the show, so . . .

I liked this opening better than the show itself

Ah the days of childhood when that was the Lone Ranger theme before there was ever a William Tell Overture. Thats pure fraggin (as Lobo would say) gold Hal. Love it.

Thats pure fraggin (as Lobo would say) gold Hal. Love it. Glad you liked it. Not sure what issue of MAD it's from, but I remember reading it when I was a kid. Dave Berg was great!
