Yikes! Sounds like bad times are coming for one of the Archie characters!

The titles are done so well why mess with them by making them "edgier". Hopefully it won't be one of the major characters that die.

I do wonder who its going to be do. At first I thought it was going to be a fake out and just be Archie´s car that would be totalled, but I doubt that is it.

Hard to have an Archie comic without Archie.

I personally dread reading this and having said that it will be a sad day for any death in the world of Archie Comics ... I hate death in Comic Books and always do.

Wondering if it may be one of the school faculty destined to die? Outside of Weatherbee and Grundy most of them wouldn't be overly missed. Same might be said for any of the parents excepting for Mr. Lodge as the teens dealing with a family death caused from their stupidity would make an interesting story. What if it is Pop Tate? Or Betty's seldom used sister? Waid has options...

I was thinking if it could be someone like Smithers? Reading the issue from yesterday its clear he is important to both Mr. Lodge and Veronica. Although he might be TO small a character to have any real kind of impact.

Here's my theory. Jughead dies.
There are no New Riverdale books except Archie in July. Archie #23-25 will deal with the aftermath. Then the New Riverdale will conclude & relaunch with all new titles moving the books closer (but not as dark) to the TV show.

I'm not very into Archie, but I've liked the newer style stuff I've read.
Can't see it being Jughead, but I'm hardly familiar with any of the characters except the most prominent so I have no idea.

Now I'm thinking it is Reggie. Sales on Archie are around 12,000. Sales on Jughead & Josie are around 7000 each title. I didn't count Betty & Veronica since they have only released 2 issues. Reggie is around 4000.
Most of the series launched with #'s around 25,000-30,000 for their first issue. Reggie only had 11,000.
And for most of Archie's history it has been the Big 4 (Archie, Betty, Jughead & Veronica) with Reggie featured occasionally (although more than any other character like Moose, Midge, etc).

Really hope it's not Reggie. It seems my favorite characters are always being killed off or erased from continuity.

I think you are right Michael James about Reggie ... not Jughead.

Only New Riverdale titles solicited for July & August are Archie & Josie.
