Imagine if you joined a comic book message board a few years ago. You really enjoyed the board, until you discovered a number of prominent members of that board were disparaging President Obama with a pet name based on his physical appearance. Such a thing would sicken most decent folk, and you'd be one of them and you'd want nothing more than to delete your account from that message board. Well, that's the very thing happening on this message board. A number of key members of this comic book message board have been disparaging our current President by referring to him mockingly by a reference to his physical appearance. I am sickened by this, as I would have been if this board had referred to our last President in a way that disparaged him relative to his physical appearance. And it's KEY board members often doing this. I want nothing more than to have my account deleted and to move on from this place. I've been told I won't get my wish, though. or you could just stay out of the Political thread? |

Two things: firstly, I really hope you won't delete your account and will stay with us to continue to contribute to our community, but perhaps avoiding the Politics Thread would be a good thing for you to do.  Secondly, mocking a public figure for having a bad fake tan or bad hair is not the same thing as mocking someone's natural skin colour or ethnicity. Not by a long shot. Bad fashion choices are fair game for satire, racist slurs are not. Lastly, please don't bring off-topic political discussions into this thread. Save them for when the Politics thread is unlocked at a later date. Thanks. |

I lIKE he board. Otherwise I wouln't have been nagged into joining the board by the pop-ups.
I LIKE the emotional freedom of being allowed (others might say 'obliged') to use beetle-baily '$##@!!@$$' 'emphasis' versus gutter-speak. It's refreshing, and encourages a greater appreciation of literacy.
I also like that respectful-debate is allowed, without sjw 'platforming' being in place, which in fact, will assist the advent of social-media paradigm which the sjw's 'want', but cannot do-what's-necessary-to-achieve.
