Called some other guys for a second opinion and they fixed the unit for $140, took about ten minutes. It was just a blown capacitor. So while I'm relieved, I also went out this morning and bought a window unit to hold me over until whenever the loan details for the expensive unit were all worked out and that thing was installed. And now I'm mad that I bought this window unit to use it for about 4 hours. I'm going to try to return it tomorrow. If I'm successful I'm going to spend that money on something cool in celebration.

I have a friend that works in the air conditioner business and his boss pushes for the customers to get whole new units instead of a simple fix. It's good that you got another opinion.

Where did you buy the window unit? You should be able to return it to most big box stores.

I liked it because it was a giant "f**k you" to the overly serious grim superhero movies that DC keeps putting out All the other responses and especially this one, I will watch it for sure this weekend, if not tonight. Cause if there's one thing the world doesn't need is another Bale Batman movie. Grim works for Batman, but when they go grim for Superman...

Grim works for Batman, but when they go grim for Superman... Its not the grim that bothers me so much in comics or specific characters, it's Bale. What a horrible, over acted, yet somehow wooden portrayal of Batman. I've not seen any Superman since Christopher Reeves, so I can't comment on those. But even as little as I read, grim doesn't fit the role of Superman for a whole movie. I can see him possibly doing it for a situation. But seeing his reaction to his first encounter with Aliens, grim doesn't seem to work well.

Went to the modern art museum in Cologne for an exhibition featuring famous German artist Sigmar Polke. While he didn't do it as often and as blatantly as Roy Lichtenstein, he did occasionally use comic book images. His "Samson and Delilah" uses three Curt Swan panels from Action Comics 484:

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. Something similar happened to me about a decade ago, but we knew the unit was on its last legs when we bought that house, so we knew it would be a full replacement.

Spent the last couple of weeks pulling out some spare copies, and other books I'm no longer keen on, plus an extra set of Preacher 1-5 (that cost me less than $25 several years ago) and said goodbye to just over 300 comics today...but netted me some cool cash which goes back into the comic kitty. At last count I am still well over 4500 comics
