Things got so bad with my wife tonight. So bad. Don't even know how to talk about it. So bad. Can't deal. Not fair to post like this, I know. Just needed to say something to someone.

Oooooh, my dear friend. Heart breaking for you. It was already broken here, of course, over all the crap I've had to deal with over the last couple of days, but ... I'm sorry. I'm horrified. It's like too many of us have angered the god of "When Bad Things Happen to Good People." We're here for you. That's all I'm capable of saying right now. I'm too emotionally exhausted myself. But we're here for you. I gave Kurt a call late this afternoon myself just because I was near the end of my rope & felt a deep need to talk to one of the most wonderful people I know. And ... I'm at a loss for words, sir. I am at a loss for words.

Thanks. I won't even mention the blood I dsicovered flowing down my right inside forearm about 20 minutes after I woke up from a sound late-night nap borne of sheer mental & physical exhaustion & fed the outdoor cats. Some kind of cut on my right elbow. That I have no idea of the origin of.
Pretty sure that if I were subconsciously trying to kill myself, I'd have gone for the wrist. My lord.

If I can't somehow get *some* kind of book out of all this, I might as well turn in my laptop right now. *smdh*

So, in an attempt to move on, I replaced my wake up song on my cell phone from "our song" after almost 3 years:
To this much more upbeat one:

My heart has been breaking for each and everyone who is going through trials and tribulations right now, because to see you in pain brings me pain as well. I know we have atheists, agnostics, anti-deists, anarchists, and religious (both Christian and other faiths) folks on this board, so it may mean nothing or it may mean something to each of you individually, but please know that I am praying to my God for each and every one of you in your current situations. For shaxper, I pray you and your wife find a way to work through your problems and rebuild your marriage for both of your sakes and the sake of your daughter. For Dan, I pray you find peace in the aftermath of Winston's death as well as the other things that have happened to you recently. Your anger and hurt are understandable, but I hope they don't consume you and lead you to do anything that will have long-lasting consequences. For pip, I pray you find a way to move on from your recent break-up. I've been where you are at, figuring out how to more forward after a long-term relationship ends suddenly, and I pray you find someone who will love you as you deserve to be loved. For all of you suffering from depression, I pray you find comfort and rest, that you are able to see the good in your lives and that you know you have friends here to talk through your problems. I've never met any of you in person, but I consider you as part of my extended family (kinda like the Addams or Manson families . If any of you want to talk, PM me and let me know what, if anything, I can do to help, even if it just listen. In God's Love, Richard

There's not much I can say that Richard hasn't already said better. I hope and pray for better days for us all.

I grew up from the time I was a tyke to just about 10 years ago with cats. Unfortunately pets are not welcomed in most rentals these days anymore, and not owning a home, I do miss them. They are great animals to have around. I do not know when we moved out of the last rental that allowed them, if my Oscar lived. It was around the time my first son was born and we were not home a lot. He was 14 weeks premature and at the time we lived 150 miles from OKC where he was in NICU and by the time we were ready to move to OKC, he had not returned home. He was always an outside and inside cat, and the last time I let him out he never returned. While I don't know directly that he died, the worst did seem to come to mind. Especially since coyotes weren't uncommon to come into the town we were in at the time. I am sorry for Winston dying Dan. I really do know how great compainons cats can be, and for him to be taken from you is ____ed up. And to pile more crappy news into this thread ... we have this evening at around 4pm CT and tomorrow afternoon/evening to watch for more severe weather that could produce tornadoes. Ugh. Thank god I am not on call at work. I'll be leaving early today from work if it gets bad to get home...better hit the liquor store too.

Really feeling for you here, Dan. The news about your cat couldn't have come at a worse time...and if those little b*****ds who broke in are responsible, then that's appalling and also quite possibly a police matter. My commitment to anarchism, that admittedly impossible dream, compels me to stir myself from my misery & intone hollowly, "If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal." Carry on. There's a good chap. I just wish they could vote the royal family out. I'm really sick of hearing about them. I'm not Kardashian level of sick of them mind you, but still... It's funny, but I'm not royalist at all and firmly believe we should be a rupublic. But when I hear someone from a foreign country say such things, my instant, knee-jerk reaction is to think, "You dirty foreign swine! How dare you attack her majesty and the monarchy." Lol...I guess patriotism and national mythology die hard even in someone like me. Here's what I wrote on Facebook today about the general election result... Well, that was certainly a disappointing election result for the Labour party. Those who know me will know that I've long been very critical of Ed Miliband's leadership (just see my post from yesterday), but I don't think I quite realised how toxic he was to the party in the eyes of many UK voters. The huge – no, make that COLOSSAL – wins made by the SNP in Scotland at Labour's expense are particularly depressing: firstly because it means that despite pre-election assurances from Nicola Sturgeon, the possibility of Scotland seceding from the rest of the UK is an all too real possibility again; and secondly, because it means that the chances of getting a majority Labour government in power in the coming decades are basically non-existent. Still, on the flip side, it was most gratifying to see the Liberal Democrats getting a pasting, especially since they lost out so heavily to the Tories. Boy, that's gotta hurt! The results here in the Chesham & Amersham constituency, where there has been strong Lib Dem support for years, tell the story very effectively, with the party suddenly finding themselves behind Labour and UKIP. Still, I guess that's what happens when the party leadership sell their grass roots supporters, a large proportion of the electorate and much of their own manifesto down the river for a shot at being in power. Overall though, it was a pretty exciting general election night, with some very unexpected results – or, at least, the magnitude of some of those results were unexpected. I have to say that, despite my disappointment at the prospect of 4 or 5 more years of devastating Conservative rule for this country, I love that British politics can still be this volatile and that everything can change so dramatically overnight. Shut the door on your way out, Ed.
