Yup. It's their apparent inability to communicate with each other that drives me bananas, so to speak. Fortunately, it looks there may be some forward progress after all. Keep your fingers crossed. Cei-U! I dare to hope! The "right hand doesn't know what the left's doing" is classic government run around. Good luck, I'll cross finger, toes, and anything else I can cross without doing permanent damage. You'd think some of these people would contact their human sides and realize how important mobility is to a person.

I got in a pretty big argument with my manager tonight. She scheduled me as a cashier instead of a driver. We lost two cashiers in a week and she's short staffed, which is fine. I saw she has a new cashier in training hired, and found out today she hired another. So it's not going to be a long term thing, and I'm willing to help out. The thing is though, there's four drivers (including me) who have the skills to do both. I asked that she rotate the responsibility among us so I wouldn't be doing this too often, it shorts me about $40 a day in tips, which is about half my wage. She had an absolute meltdown when I suggested that, and we argued until she walked out the door. Then I texted the regional manager and asked if I can transfer to another location. Tomorrow I'll be putting in applications before work.

What can I do with old trades? I was going to give them to the library because their selection is such a shitshow, but they don't take donations. God forbid they toss out that copy of Ultimate Spider-Man vol 4 missing half its pages or Naurto vol 7 that someone lovingly stored in a puddle. I don't really have any friends with kids old enough to care.

I don't really have any friends with kids old enough to care. If you are looking to donate you can check into literacy programs looking for reading material to use, children's hospitals or children's wings of hospitals, things like Goodwill (Salvation Army, thrift stores for local charities etc.) stores and such that will sell them for charitable causes etc. or wait and see if your library has a library sale where they do take donations and sell them to raise extra revenue. You can check into shelters for families or women with children and see if they will take them to have on hand for their guests. Check with afterschool programs, youth centers, or school and/or university libraries in the area as well and see if they are interested in taking them. Also keep an eye open for co-workers and friends with kids-at one point I gave a couple of long boxes of floppies to single mothers who worked with my mom so they had stuff to give to their kids on birthdays and Christmas without having to come up with the cash to buy more gifts. There are lots of options... or you could list them on the Classic Comics Exchange page here if you just want to find them a home. -M

Maybe you have something like that in your town?

I think I'll see if the Women's Shelter Resale shop will take them. Not sure how that slipped my mind.

Not as noble as the other suggestions, but you can sell them on Ebay or if you have other stuff to get rid of you can have a garage/rummage/tag sale. I wanted to unload some of my Essentials after I got the Marvel DVDs, so I sold them at my church's rummage sale for $5 apiece. Sold all 7 that I had to get rid of pretty quickly.

If you are interested in reinvesting in comics, mycomicshop.com buys comics for cash or store credit. I've sold floppies and old trades there. You get more credit than cash, but it's nice to just clear out the surplus.

And we're having a 79% solar eclipse right now... Does that mean anything when it's coinciding with Equinox? Though isn't that tomorrow, on the 21st?

Was pretty rubbish really and cloud obscured our view completely. The total eclipse back in 1999 was so much more spectacular from where I live.
