Back from Seoul. Spent a week there. It's another cosmopolitan, but still a city with a lot of culture and history tied to it. I enjoyed a lot of the fun and the places I visited. Including Seoul Tower and the War Memorial of Korea. I was with my wife and her family (brother, sister in law, parents). Both her mother and father speak Cantonese so it's always a little frustrating that we can't communicate. I'm still in the process of learning Mandarin which everyone in her family knows except her mother. Regardless, they are nice people and a pleasure to be around. It just sucked being left out of a lot of conversations at times. Took a lot of nice photos. But now it's back to "the real world" I guess. At the very least I feel like I have a new sense of optimism to get some of my life together.

Reports going around that Irwin Hasen has passed away. But I can't find an actual news report. Very sad if true. Another link to the early days of comics gone. Mark Evanier is pretty good about confirming this kind of thing though before he blogs. www.newsfromme.com/2015/03/13/irwin-hasen-r-i-p/

I good friend of mine died of a massive heart attack last Sunday. His service was Thursday . It was a bad week for me. I'm having a few glasses of wine to just decompress.

Condolences on the loss of your friend. It's never easy, especially if it comes as a surprise.

Sorry for your loss. Man, I'm tired of hearing about so many deaths recently. I hope the universe has gotten it out of its system for a while.

Is it ridiculous that I get kind of excited when the banner ads on the site actually come close to pegging me correctly? I just got an ad for licensed Spider-Man "Good Nites" disposable bed time underwear. No, my kids are potty trained and have been for a very long time now, but I LIKE that they finally figured out I'm both a comic book geek AND a father of young children. Score one for you, ad choice.
