Happy birthday, Icctrombone! May your day be filled with busty women, men with impossibly small feet, lots of pouches, and busty Captain America too!

Well, it's not just the comics around here that are getting up there. Apparently, my blood pressure is trying to do so, too! So I'm looking up low-sodium diets for men, and I need to get home blood pressure monitor and follow up.
The good thing is the doc says folks in my range can usually get to normal range just through diet and exercise change, so may not need medication, but one more thing to have to now spend time and energy on.
Oh, well. Bacon's great and all, but as long as I get to keep my coffee, I'm all right.

I had to make that switch when my blood pressure became an issue a decade or so ago (though mine was bad enough to require meds, so your situation may be different). -M

I've had to start watching my salt intake these last couple years and get myself a blood pressure monitor too. I'm only just higher than someone of my age should be, but like you impulse, I don't want it to deteriorate any further and require medication. The doctor said mine was easily controlled at this stage with reducing salt and saturated fat (I'm a sucker for cheese and crisps!) and to start exercising more regularly. I've really managed to cut down the foods that are bad for me, but the regular exercise has been...sporadic. :/

Re: exercise. I do a half hour a day, 5-7 days a week, on an exercise bike I got for $125, and just that does make a real difference health wise

I'm lucky - all I had to do to get my blood pressure back to normal was stop taking my ADHD medication.
Of course I'm now struggling with ADHD, but I've been doing that most of my life.

Stay away from meds. Food heals you and food makes you sick. Eat good food and it heals you.
