Like most people I'm going to watch the Super Bowl. I don't know why they can't make this game a 1PM start. Everyone is watching this game no matter what time it comes on. Or at least maybe 3 PM EST. But then they wouldn't have so many hours of pre-game bushwah to sell. Two excellent teams playing -- I hope -- to the best of their ability should make this a memorable game. I really don't have a dog in the fight, but I'd prefer the Niners... for sentimental reasons. Over the years, I've found that watching someone who is excellent at his or her game, whether the game is cooking, building, acting, sports, painting, dancing, singing, whatever, is always entertaining and enlightening. As well as humbling.

I generally dislike all sports, but the exceptions would be occasionally watching... Boxing - there's something fascinating and watchable -- primal, even -- about two grown men beating the hell out of each other. I can't help it. Snooker - the lush green of the snooker table, the gentle "click" and "clack" of the balls, and the understated expertise of the mastery of basic physics in the playing is fascinating and very relaxing to watch. Baseball - I visited Fenway Park in Boston and watched the Boston Red Sox vs. the Chicago White Sox with my wife in 2018 and discovered a hitherto unknown enjoyment of baseball. I kinda feel you need to watch it live though really. Not sure I'd be into watching it on TV. American Football - I used to play in an under-18s team in the late 80s. I was on the Defence: a Corner Back, actually. As a result, I still really enjoy watching the game on TV. I support the New York Jets, which is mostly a thankless task in recent years. As for today's Super Bowl, I'll nominally be rooting for the SF 49ers, because I still associate them with the glory days of Joe Montana as Quarterback in the '80s. Not that I actually actively follow any of these sports really. But I do have a passing interest in them. Anyway, real men don't like sport; real men like poetry and music.

I used to be a big college football fan, but the constant conference realignments have pretty much killed my love for the game. I still keep an eye on my Broncos, but that’s about it.
I watch about one NFL game a year and that’s the Superb Owl. And mostly it’s an excuse to make wings and jalapeño poppers. Back when I cared I hated the 49ers…and I find the ludicrous manufactured outrage about Taylor Swift hilarious, so I’ll root for the Chiefs in hopes it will make right-wing loons heads explode.
I was an avid boxing fan until everything went pay-per-view and you had to be independently wealthy to follow the sport. The whole thing just annoys me.
There was a fairly short time in the 70s and 80s when I sort of followed baseball. But mostly I find I’m more interested in the history of the sport than the reality of it.
Ultimately I’m far more interested in watching any sport live than on TV. And if it involves effort (pay-per-view, odd streaming sites, etc.) you can count me right out.

I'll watch it if it involves Ric Flair defending the World title, the Harlem Globetrotters, or Ralphie Valladares and the Los Angeles Thunderbirds; but, not a whole lot else, these days. Back in the day, Wide World of Sports, The American Sportsman, Muhammad Ali fights, ICW pro wrestling ("Freakout!"), Roller Derby/Roller Games, drag racing, The Superstars & Super-Teams, the Battle of the Network Stars and Scooby's Laff-a-Lympics )and the Wacky Races predecessor). The only auto racing I could stand involved Speed Racer and the only football games I have enjoyed were The Mean Machine vs The Guards and the 4077th MASH vs the 325th Evac Hospital.

Don't tell me you're part of that stereotype that Comic nerds hate sports ? I don't dislike sporting events, but they're not my favorite. I like Hockey and Arena Football, but that's only because they consistently beat the crap out of each other (and yet for some reason I can't stomach UFC or MMA). I also enjoy pro wrestling, but it's more like a glorified stunt show and not really a sport per say (though opinions may differ)

So, I don't know why she's playing, but did Taylor Swift win her football game at the Usher concert?

She finished tied with Kelce. Don't you mean tied up by ? I don't think they aired that part, but I imagine that'd fetch a few dollars on Pay per View. Sexytime: Taylor's Version

^This reminds me of a time I was working at a different location that usual for my job. Two of my female co-workers had gotten into a disagreement earlier in the day. By lunch time they were still cross with each other. After a back and forth before we ate lunch I told them both that they needed to kiss and make up. (A saying I heard from childhood and not meant in any other way it just came out of my mouth,) To which one of the them looked at me and said "you would like to see that wouldn't you?" To which I just *guess I'll die now meme shrug*. The other woman's response was "typical man". At least we all had a laugh and it lessened the tension.

Don't tell me you're part of that stereotype that Comic nerds hate sports ? Nope. I love baseball. And I'm okay with football, but once the Seahawks are out for the season my interest drops to zero.
Cei-U! I summon the short attention span!
I'm the same way once the Packers are out. So our Super Bowl tradition is to go out to dinner at restaurants that are usually a long wait for a table. They're very empty that night.
