Holy messed up piles of comics Batman! The last 2 days I spent most of my time sorting and boxing up all the assorted misplaced comic books from my robbery just over 2 years ago. Last summer when I quit my job I had time to have it all picked up and put into various boxes while attempting to sort by Marvel, DC and independent. Then a new job put that on hold until my Contract was ended on 10/13/21.
So I dug back into the boxes to refilling up 9 Long boxes. That is 9 boxes of VERY incomplete runs of mostly DC and Marvel titles which were mostly complete until the robbery. So I have 4 boxes of Marvel and 3 boxes of DC with 2 boxes of various. Most are 80's to early 2000's.
Next up is setting an appointment with my local LCS to take them in for a pricing to sale evaluation. I have tried to make 1 box of what may be higher end selling potential but I don't have the energy or caring for sorting out HOT issues to maximize sales. I just need to have them out and not taking up space.
Here's to moving forward and not looking back.

I was just reading and article about how the Juice attended a Bills game today and it gave me pause to see him smiling and interacting with fans; he's either a truly evil man with out an ounce of remorse...or maybe he really didn't do it. I've always thought it was pretty clear he was guilty, and I'm usually pretty cynical but seeing him there with the fans...it really made me want to believe that he's a good guy.

Very true, but it did give me pause because you know I just don't want to think a person could be that low to be able to pull it off for so long. It's probably the same kind of reasonable doubt the juror's had, "He's the Juice how could he do that?"

Seeing him with fans cheering him on reminds me of how an ever growing part of me despises the human race. Is there something about murdering two people which isn't as horrible as I think it is? I'm kind of in a misanthropic mood after reading yesterday about how a "comedian" named Mike Ward won a free speech case after ridiculing a disabled child so frequently that the child became suicidal. It isn't that he won the case - although I think singling out a specific child by name and directing your attacks specifically at him shouldn't be protected by free speech - it's the way that a lot of people are cheering Ward on as if he's now some sort of hero which pisses me off. I mean, a scum bag who harasses a disabled child is still a scum bag who harasses a disabled child whether or not he has the legal right to do so.

Fruitless to ask how can someone be so cruel when with so many people today, the cruelty is the point.

I mean, a scum bag who harasses a disabled child is still a scum bag who harasses a disabled child whether or not he has the legal right to do so. If that's how the case was presented elsewhere, well, I fully understand your reaction. Who wants vulnerable people to be attacked by bullies? But that's not exactly what happened. Ward was actually mocking (a) the "pity industry", in which people make money by exploiting vulnerable people and our collective guilt, and (b) the people who feel entitled to some virtuous status because they gave money to a good cause. The original sketch was pretty funny for those who like gallows humour. It then degenerated into something very ugly, because many ugly people don't realize it is gallows humour, and think that because a stand-up comic made jokes about something, it's fine to just mock vulnerable people. Ward himself a acknowledges that half of his fans don't laugh for the right reasons. I'm sure Dave Chappelle feels the same way when one of his fans starts insulting gays. The case that the supreme court discussed was whether defamation is necessarily the same as discrimination. It decided that it was not, which is a huge win for freedom of speech. I did like our PM's statement on the matter: he said that freedom of speech was important, but that it was also dangerous; something I wholeheartedly agree with. But that something might be dangerous doesn't make it less precious, in my opinion.

My best friend's younger cousin, who I've known since she was seven, will be a grandma next summer. I am old.

One week on now from my wife's endolymphatic sac decompression surgery down in Birmingham. Her recovery has been rough, but so far no instances of the debilitating vertigo that had been plaguing her for years, so it's looking more and more like the surgery was a success, and could be life-changing for us both! I took my tablet along for the hospital stay, and courtesy of St. Vincent's reasonably steady wi-fi, I read the entirety of U. S. 1 and a big hunk of Matt/Kid Slade.

I know a few weeks or so back the topic of TikTok came up. I've had an account for a while, but I almost never use it. My wife occasionally sends me some short form content, and once in a blue moon I will scroll clips at night to see what I see. I do not post anything myself.
The cultural merits debate aside, oh man, there is some hilarious stuff on there. My face muscles are still tired from laughing so much and so hard. It's like an on-demand America's Funniest Home Videos without the awkwardness.
I wouldn't call most of what's on there anything approaching art, but if you like laughing at funny animals, there are worse ways to spend an hour once in a while.

There's no shortage of women with humongous boobs too.

I'm too old for this shit. . LOL. . . .I spent the past weekend in San Antonio (Halloween) at a theme park event, next weekend we have to drive to Houston to deal with my Dad (who's dementia has progressed so quickly he needs to be in hospice care), then the weekend after that, I go back to San Antonio for the weekend for *another* theme park event. and I just bought a Six Flags Season Pass for 2022 & SeaWorld for 2022 pass is happening when I'm in San Antonio (gonna upgrade my event ticket to get the pass). oh.. . and I'm likely going to Europe next year. all the above by myself, since Nick says he can't manage (tho he's going with me to Houston). I'm exhausted just thinking about it. . . sheesh.
