So who is your favorite Horror Actor through the ages? You can choose 2! Over the ages there have been many greats from silent films through the Universal Studio's greats into the Hammer Horror and into today.
I choose Vincent Price as my 1st choice as his career carried such a long history of differing styles from science fiction to terror to thrillers and to straight horror. He has done it all in his time with style and panache and a sense of humor that stands the test of time to be enjoyed over and over again no matter what your age is.
2nd choice is Boris Karloff who again did so much in horror and thrillers and science fiction and gangster movies even. Karloff was always a recognizable and bankable star selling even the lesser movies he did with his acting. No matter what he was doing in any movie you knew you were in for a treat in watching them.
What do you all say?

Christopher Lee as Dracula - Those Hammer Films that he did in color really pops in my mind as the creepiest horror actor of all time. Lee was excellent and when he and Barbara Carlsen did Dracula has Risen from the Grave back in 1968 remains one of my favorite horror films ...
Bela Lugosi is another favorite of mine as Dracula.
Dracula is a fascinating character and both Lugosi and Lee were excellent in their own way!

This is a bit hard to answer as all my favourite horror films have actors which maybe appeared in one good film and then others which were simply meh....so since my favourite (classic) memories are of video tapes with horros from the 70s and 80s...I'll go with

I'm hardly a connoisseur of horror films. but I've always liked Barbara Steele. And I love Claude Rains! Claude Rains was great as the villain in any picture he was in, though my favorite role was as Prince John in the Adventures of Robinhood. He had the cultured bad guy down to a science.

I chose Lon Chaney, Jr.. He wasn't the world's best actor (although his performances in High Noon and Of Mice and Men were both very good) but he was the one whose monsters I loved best as a kid. I used to spend hours drawing Wolf Man, and it's always Chaney Jr. I see when I envision a mummy. I was such a devoted fan that I actually sat through such turkeys as Man-Made Monster, Pillow of Death, and Dracula Vs. Frankenstein to see him. And he appeared on The Monkees!
Cei-U! I summon the last train to Creepsville!

Another favorite actor is Fredric March in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. And of course Spencer Tracy too ... same role but different movie and times.

The 80's was the last gasp for horror as it turned into more slasher/terror/blood/gore but both Jamie and Adrienne did some great movies!

Did you read "Nightmare of Ecstasy"? So many funny stories about Tor. And Bela too.

I have to go with Spanish horror actor Paul Naschy. He is in so many crazy movies (most often as a werewolf) which are just really fun to watch.
