They're beautiful, tingramretro. And yes, I see them in that issue's lettercol--that's so cool. And even cooler that you stepped in to give Molly a loving home.

They're beautiful, tingramretro . And yes, I see them in that issue's lettercol--that's so cool. And even cooler that you stepped in to give Molly a loving home. She's a beautiful creature. She was seriously stressed when we first got her, and would periodiccally have small fits, which were quite scary. Then she ran away and we thought we'd seen the last of her. She eventually turnd up back at her old home, which had since been sold, and the new people called me to come and collect her. She seemed more than happy to see me, and hasn't left our house in the five years since; she won't even go into the garden, but she seems totally relaxed and stress free, and loves attention.

About 13 years ago I rescued a stray cat of about 6 months of age that looked half dead from starvation. I named her Stanette, after Stan Lee. She lived about 10 more years. Six months later I took a cat that was around 3 years old off the hands of a lady who rescues cats. I've now had Angel a little over 2 years. About 6 months ago I took in another stray, Raven. I always told myself I wouldn't have more than one cat, but I was wrong. Lol

We adopted two, about a month ago, after having to put my wife's cat to sleep. It was around 18 and her health suddenly plummeted. We adopted an 8 year old male black cat, that had to e given up by his owner, when she had to be placed under medical care; and, a 10 month-old kitten, who had been transferred from another shelter to the local Humane Society. We had wanted to get a pair of kittens; but, the one was the only kitten they had. The older cat came right up to the bars of his cage to great us, while the kitten was a bit skittish. We met both in an isolated room, separately, and both were very friendly. The kitten was very agitated, at first, but soon warmed up and jumped into my wife's lap. They've both got traits of another cat we had to put to sleep last year, after his kidneys were failing. The older one looks like him (he was a black cat) and the younger one (an orange/beige tabby) has a lot of his personality. This morning, I was woken up (an hour before my alarm) by the youngster jumping on me and meowing, loudly, in my ear.

My air conditioning wall unit blows a breeze throughout the room it's in. One of my cats really takes in the breeze and enjoys it.

My air conditioning wall unit blows a breeze throughout the room it's in. One of my cats really takes in the breeze and enjoys it. Both of our cats are the opposite. They are heat vampires. They will sit and block the heat vents in the winter and will sit in front of the fridge sucking up the warmth from the cooling process in the summer.

Early this past week one of my two cats wasn't feeling well and her eyes starting getting lots of puss in them and at times matting shut. I used a warm, wet cloth to clean them and get them reopened. Then, Wednesday morning she seemed so sick I thought she was going to die. She wouldn't eat or drink, was inordinately lethargic, and had trouble seeing. Money is always tight for me, and I wasn't working with much. I called the AZ Humane Society, and fortunately talked to the right person who said this sounded like something that should be looked at sooner rather than later. When I bemoaned my financial situation, he told me of a local Animal Clinic where the first visit is free. I took Angel to that clinic. I didn't have a pet carrier, and was told they would provide one for me to bring her in from my car. My cat fought me tooth and nail on that, and I walked into the clinic bloodied and holding my cat in one hand and the carrier in the other. After giving me stuff to deal with my wounds (Lol!) they saw my cat. She has an upper respiratory infection, and assured me she wasn't going to die. I received two medications for her. The visit was free and the meds ran me $55. Now, if I can just survive administering those meds for ten days. My cat does show improvement, but is still struggling on this, the fourth day of taking her meds.

She's been drinking some water and eating a bit of food the last several days. Her eyes have not been matting shut and also she seems a hint more lively. She's still struggling though.

I couldn't find my cat for over 12 hours. At 4am this morning I did a thorough search of my apartment and even looked outside and didn't find her. Then at 430am I rolled over and looked and saw her at the food bowls. By doing this she has avoided her medication two nights in a row.

I've recently discovered the comic strip "Breaking Cat News". It took a little while for me to get the strip's setup - the stars are Lupin, Elvis, and Puck, along with The Woman and The Man (collectively, The People). The cats have a news broadcast, although it's not clear who the audience is supposed to be. They take turns being the anchor and the field reporters, and they cover news of interest to the three of them, like "there is a strange cat in the back yard", and "can opener false alarm - not cat food", etc. They use English, but The People can't understand them and vice-versa. Despite the strangeness of the news-report setup they act exactly like cats I've known, and they are based on the cartoonist's real cats.
It's available on gocomics.com or breakingcatnews.com, or if you're lucky, in your local newspaper.

You might need to keep her confined until her course of treatment is up. That's what we had to do when one of ours had a similar condition.

Try the Greenies Pill Pockets, you just insert the pill within a treat (so it's disguised/hidden). I have also used a pill dispenser, it's a bit tougher because you have to get them to open their mouths. But it's doable and it's how I got my cat to take his meds a few years ago. This is a link to one for dogs but they also have smaller ones for cats. These should be available at Petco and other pet stores.

Thanks. There were two medications in liquid form. It worked great, and now my cat is feeling great again! It was a rough week though.
