Facebook page for showGreat small show in its second year, more toys than comics, but still a lot of vendors with cool stuff. I plan on going-it's right across the street from the Nutter Center where Gem City Comic Con had been held before moving last year, right off of I675 so easy access. Vendor-centric show, with door prizes, no announced creator guest, and if there are, they will be local small press creators. -M

This wouldn't be a bad show to go to, as I could stay with my brother-in-law just up I-75 near Troy, but we will be coming out the following weekend as well for a family party, so I'm not going to be able to go two weekends in a row.

Eventually, the three of us are going to have to coordinate a meetup, but this one is just too far for me (3.5 hours)

There's another Harvey Buckeye Con the weekend before (same venue as last time) as well, I'd like to do both but I don't think I have the budget for it, and this one is much closer for me, so it's the one I am likely to do. We'll see though, my birthday is the week of Buckeye Con so there may be a budget influx allowing me to go to both, but not likely. -M

Didn't have the budget to do both, so skipped Buckeye Con today, but gearing up for the show next Sunday. Just found out there is a dealer there called Innerspace Toys (hmmm Micronauts specialty maybe?!) that I have never dealt with before and looking forward to checking out. A friend of mine who lives right down the street form the place where the Con is being held is planning on attending and bringing his son who is a huge Spidey fan to the show-it'll be my friend's first non-gaming con-he's done Origins with my wife and I before-and his son's first con ever, so I am as excited to see their reactions as I am for going myself.
If anyone is in the area and planning on attending, drop me a note.

I'll let you know after I go tomorrow (which is Sunday the 24th...). As much as I would love to have a Tardis or other time travel device, I don't, so I had to wait for the day to actually get here -M

It was a great show, got back about an hour or so ago. Huge haul of toys, got 3 sketch covers done, and a few comics too-will post some pics when I get a chance to take some.

Both are within driving distance for me. Steel City comicon is coming up...

From Mike's Vintage Toys (appearing soon on Comic Trips) I picked up a couple of loose vintage action figures... The Ming figure from the 1979 Mattel line based on the Filmation Flash Gordon animated series and the 1980's Super Power Green Arrow figure... Not retro, but retro feeling, I got the 3 Robert E. Howard heroes retro-Mego figures from Figures Toy Company... Kull... Conan... and Solomon Kane... more to come... -M
