Many of us enjoy online forum communities so I was wondering what other ones we take part in. They can be anything from comics to music to sports to video games to movies/TV.

Just the Earwolf message boards, and the occasional post on our former home....

Just a caution before this conversation proceeds -- this is not a place to bad-mouth other sites and go off on tangents about how certain online communities have changed. Please stay on topic.

That being said, I used to post on a whole host of online communities a long while back, but I spend less time online these days and more time with my family, so anytime I'm online, it's here. However, as I've been working to promote this site via facebook, I've become aware of a number of facebook groups that engage in more limited discussions that I find informative. I particularly enjoy History of Comics: The 1970s, and History of Comics: The 1980s. They discuss pretty much the same things we do, but it's interesting to see old topics we've discussed here come up there with completely different viewpoints. Those guys REALLY like John Byrne, for example.

I don't. I barely have time to post on this one between work and life! That said, I do follow the Back Issue Magazine page on Facebook and I post comments there on a semi-regular basis. But that's not a proper message board community like this one is, so it doesn't really count. I have tried a few different internet message boards over the years, including a Star Wars one and a few music related ones, but I found them to be very cliquey and full of people who would just as soon start a massive flame war as look at you. I finally settled at the CBR forums because I thought they seemed very friendly, generally speaking. Of course, once I'd found the Classic Comics forum, I began to post elsewhere in the forum less and less. Another thing that makes me contribute to this particular community is that I don't have many friends to discuss comic books with in real life...at least, not in the knowledgeable way that we do here. I have plenty of friends that I can have in-depth discussions with about music, movies, or books, but comics are a passion that most of my friends don't share unfortunately. EDIT: You see, you're all my special, imaginary internet friends.

I post on the CGC forums, and I also frequent the Archie Fans forums, though I am not as active there. I do have a review thread there though that I should probably bring over here at some point.

Baseball Think Factory & The Classic Horror Film Board.
My Facebook posting has fallen off precipitously the last couple of months, in large part because a revamp of the way the admin functions for the accounts here at work are set up. Somehow, when I post something original on my FB page, notification winds up going to everyone else who has admin clearance here ... which of course isn't suppose to happen, as we were assured when the change was made. Maybe it's not that way anymore, but I don't have any desire to test it.
My responses to other people's posts aren't affected, but in the interim I've fallen out of the habit of paying much attention.

The only one besides this, on a regular basis, is Bucs Dugout, which is a blog dedicated to the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team.
I occasionally post on CBR, but since most of the community moved over here, I don't find I spend much time over there. Once in a while a topic will catch my eye and I will respond, but that doesn't happen very often.

In the past I sporadically posted on DvDTalk,IMdB,Newsarama and CBR. I also posted some snarky comments on MSN Weather

No place other than a couple of comics-related Facebook groups (both hosted by Rick). No time for more.

Not a bloody one. I don't even respond to Facebook any more. If I see one more post about what someone had for dinner...

Not a bloody one. I don't even respond to Facebook any more. If I see one more post about what someone had for dinner... Dinner? a banana fruit salad as appetizer, roast duck followed by Bananas Foster for dessert.... -M Well done. I thought I was setting up an easy one for Dan, but you beat him to it. The "roast duck" part is a little disturbing though...

Not many anymore. I used to be on a car forum, but I think I'm going to have to sue the guy who has had my car for the past two years to get it back, so I've kind of lost interest. I still post on the CGC boards, but since I don't have money to buy things I am pretty limited in my conversations there. I don't find the actual comic book discussion to be all that great for the most part. Just talk about eBay prices and movie deals. I have a Facebook but have not been nearly as active on there either. I read the wall, and that's about it.
