I am guessing that since almost every creator listed as taking part has one or more ongoing titles they need to meet deadlines on that this is going to be down when they have free moments and not putting other work on hold. Since it is round robin format too, creators need to see what the team before did before they do theirs so if one team has a delay it affects everyone in the project, and it is the type of project I am betting they want completely in the can before they solicit the first issue so there will be no delays between issues, and so that if any changes need to be made in earlier parts they can be done before issues release, so all 12 parts need to be finished before #1 is solicited. It was announced as happening at ECCC this spring, but I would say a conservative guess is that it will take a year at least to get all the issues done in house, likely longer, so I doubt you will see it solicited before 2017. Mind you, this is all conjecture on my part, but the announcement only named the teams that would be participating, not that any work towards the project had been done for it or that they had a schedule set for its release.

OMG! Do those pencil pages look all kinds of awesome or what? This is a monthly buy and a collected buy for me. Where is the ongoing Kamandi already? What is wrong with DC? Milk the anniversary yet no reprints in affordable formats or an ongoing which is a no-brainer that we would all buy? Corporate thinking is never on the mark is it?!?

I'll buy a trade of this Kamandi book if one comes out. Yes, Future Quest is the 1 DC book on my pull list (actually let me amend that, it's one of 2, I forgot I have Scooby-Doo Team-Up on it too because they are doing a stretch of fun guest stars-including the Future Quest characters-over the next few bi-monthly issues). I am really enjoying Future Quest, but it has been plagued by some delays and had to have some fill in artists (which has been Steve Rude, so not complaining)-which I don't mind but has some fanboys in apoplexy and dropping the book because they can't get their fix when they want it, which to me sucks because it endangers the viability of a wonderful book, but I hope the book can find customers outside the direct market and avoid those kind of temper tantrum vagaries in its customer base. It's a great book, very well done, but I just hope it finds an audience so it can survive int his market-which is one of the reasons I decided to get it monthly rather than trade wait on it as I do with most other books that interest me. -M

Can't wait and I'll pick up these individual issues asap !
The only other current DC I'm buying is Doom Patrol.
Actually bought the first five issues of the new Power Man / Iron Fist title, which really looks good. That's the first new Marvel I've bought in probably 5 or 6 years, though I've picked up some recent Marvels on sale within a year or so of publication.
I loved the DC Challenge back in the day.
Hopefully DC will get back to more fun projects like this.

So far it looks like it has a chance to be decent, which is more than I can say for most Kirby-related books coming from DC or Marvel. I'm not familiar with many of the creators named, and I think it's a bit of a shame Didio is contributing, since I haven't liked what I've seen of his previous efforts with Kirby characters, but in spite of all that I'm still getting a pretty good vibe from this on the whole. I'll almost certainly get the collected edition if there is one.
Is Marvel doing anything for the anniversary? Seems DC has gotten the jump on them with this project.

It really looks good! Of course, comics being what they are nowadays, I dread that the series might be rebooted after seven issues!!!

A friend of mine had never read DP and said it was weird but good.
I told him to hang on for the ride cause DP is exactly that.
My son has been dying to read DP after hearing me talk about it.
I think it would make a killer movie.

Anyone think we get a Q1 2017 release or do we probably have to wait until at least the summer?
