John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) I liked this better than the original and am glad to see there will be another sequel.

I just saw The Foreigner - Starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan and this movie kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire movie and if you are a fan of Jackie Chan ... this is the movie to see.

Split (2016) I was excited to see this based on the previews but didn't realize it was an M. Night Shyamalan movie still it was pretty watchable. It's an interesting look at dissociative identity disorder, the atmosphere is eerie throughout and James McAvoy gives an excellent performance as the various unique personalities. I liked the idea of some of the identities working against the others and his transformation into the beast was really creepy and almost had a supernatural vibe. I don't feel tying the ending into his other film Unbreakable really added anything but I guess the Horde is suppose to be the next villain in that universe. Not something I'd rewatch but one of his better movies.

Same here ... I first read this story back in Junior High in 9th grade in my English Class. I still have that book back then.

Get Out (2017) Interesting social commentary with great casting and a few unexpected twists. There are lots of creepy performances and some effective scares combined with a little humor. The climax is exciting with a good bit of gory kills and a pretty satisfying ending. I think this is a must see for fans of Jordan Peele.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016) Decent action thriller on par with the first one arguably at times even a little better. Still think the live action version pales in comparison to the books though.

Saturday morning was spent immersing myself into Murder on the Orient Express. What a gorgeous and scrumptious movie to lose ones self into in a murder mystery setting within so iconic a part of the past. It was a visual feast and the CGI used to depict the cities and countryside during the sweeping train travel are stunningly beautiful. Wonderful watching such great acting in the lavishly decadent train setting. This is not a big action movie for the youngsters and won't appeal to most but if you like a well crafted older adult movie with delights to feast upon with repeat viewings of stylish suspense then you will be rewarded for indulging yourself. Very much a movie of the golden age styling's and trappings complete with a big name stellar cast. Branagh makes for a very entertaining Poirot and I do hope for more Poirot from him.

T2 Trainspotting (2017) Not nearly as cool as the original but an interesting sequel with a satisfying enough conclusion. I haven't read the source material to compare it though.

Life (2017) Interesting premise with decent casting, eerie mood and some tense moments. While it doesn't necessarily add anything new or original to the genre it uses the existing tropes well enough to be entertaining. I'm not a big fan of CGI but the evolution of the alien from single celled organism to downright scary monster made for some disturbing and cool looking visuals.
