THE WALK is a powerful film, not for faint-hearten and it's a message of discipline, control, and desires to the impossible.and desires to do so. It's a breathtaking film done by Robert Zemeckis who directed this film of a story of one Philippe Petit walk across the void of World Trade Centers Towers. Ben Kingsley who played his father - played a marvelous mentor and he did an outstanding job of acting here. It was photographed, filmed, and wonderfully visual impact that left me on the edge of my seat literally. Great Background Acting and I highly recommended this film ... THE WALK.

Crimson Peak comes out on Friday...usually I'm not one for modern horror movies but this one looks like it will he amazing.

I hope he does another Hellboy to close the trilogy...I know Ron Pearlman is up for another one. |

I hope he does another Hellboy to close the trilogy...I know Ron Pearlman is up for another one. As they have both said though, neither of the first 2 made enough money for them to get financial backing for a third. They want to make it, the studio doesn't because it won't be worth the money or the opportunity costs it presents to them. And since it's the studio that owns the rights and holds the pursestrings, unless something radically changes, there won't be a Hellboy 3. -M |

Finally watched Jurassic World. Good movie in both story and awesome special effects. Not hard to see it being the #1 film of the year. Some of the Dino battles might have really come off over the top but as mentioned in the movie none of the dinos are pure. They're all amalgams of Dino DNA and others.
Plus there's no such thing as time wasted watching a movie if Bryce Dallas Howard is on the screen. :-)

I saw Ex machina yesterday, and because the premise of evaluating whether a machine actually manifests artificial intelligence or is just imitating it was so interesting, I kept thinking "please don't screw this up, please don't screw this up".
Annnnnnnnd... they didn't! The film didn't turn into a robot apocalypse nor into a sappy feel good movie! It had me guessing up until the last scene, and was every bit the intelligent science-fiction movie I'd like to see more often.
I mean, most sci-fi films (even good ones) use science-fiction tropes to tell action stories, murder mysteries, war epics... but very few of them are actually about speculative science.
That Netflix subscription is turning out to be the most worthwhile expense of the year!!!

You'll love it, it absolutely distills everything that is great about the strip into one film. And the animation was fantastic, it almost had a stop motion animation feel to it and it had a very warm feeling. |

Dear Everybody, I saw Peanuts yesterday and it was fun, very enjoyable, and has a very warm feeling abo ut it. I took my girlfriend to that movie yesterday and she is a die-hard Peanuts fan and she only regrets about this movie is that it's only 90 or so minutes long. I just ate it up and so did she. thwhtguardian - is right on the money and it's one of the most pleasant surprises this year! Highly Recommended ...  |

I watched Stung over the weekend (on Netflix instant for those interested in it) thinking a good creature feature would be possible in 2015. Sadly, even with Lance Henriksen and a good effort by the two lead characters, it wasn't ... mostly. The spoiler isn't anything about the plot, just a negative observation on how the film was done. It was an absolute gore fest. And I don't mean it in a way that a guy with a chainsaw killing people is probably going to be a gore fest. But a gore fest, to only be a gore fest. Perhaps I am getting squimish in my old age, but at some point I would like a monstorus creature to scare and/or creep me out. The carnage it's capable of my imagination is perfectly capable of bringing to mind. |
