A lot of those are new to me, will check them out. If you hadn't said that Super Furry Animals track was from 2000 I would have guessed it was from around 1980. The Super Furrys are excellent. Their Songbook: The Singles, Vol. 1 is a great gateway into their music. I should just note though that the vast majority of their stuff is sung in English.

Answering a 3 year-old discussion, Bonnie Tyler, of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out For a Hero" fame is from Skewen, Wales, the daughter of Glyndwr and Elaine Hopkins, born as Gaynor Hopkins. I belieev the original lyrics of the latter song wet, "....I need a hero, boyo....." but, they changed it after testing it in a club. Some Welsh fun.....

ps One of Wales' favorite sons: Exotic Adrian Street Born in Brynmawr, to a coal mining family, he left home at 16 to escape working in the mines and started wrestling at 17. Despite the prancing and ring attire and make-up, he was one of the more feared shooters in the business, including giving Jimmy Saville a hiding, in one of his wrestling bouts, something that Street is very proud of, to this day, especially in light of what came out about him. He took this gamouse photo with his father and his mining comrades, back when he made it big, in the UK, before coming to the US.... Wales was a hotbed of professional wrestling over the years, led by wrestler/promoter Orig Williams.... Orig's partner, Steven Jones is better known as Steven Regal or William Regal, of WCW and WWE fame. He was actually from Blackpool, but wrestled a bit for Orig, as a fake Welshman. Fit Finlay was from Belfast and his father was a wrestler/promoter there and they had old ties to Orig, sending talent back and forth. Finlay was one of the guys at Williams' funeral. The match is from the tv show, Reslo, on the Welsh-language station SC4. He was the presenter of the show, after retiring from the ring. Regal and Finlay worked as opponents in Wales, across England and the rest of the UK, Germany & Austria; and, eventually, the US, in WCW.
