I'm glad the kite story got some love. I had a tough time choosing between that and Samurai. Both are great, and I'm still not sure if I made the right choice. I think I like the stories about equally. |

Just today I remembered the one about the betting swordsman that Usagi fights. I might have voted for that one if I had remembered. The last page is so sad. |

Of these choices, mine would be Dragon's Bellow.
Grasscutter gets all the attention (naturally and well-deserved) but I really enjoyed this early epic as Sakai showed how well the characters can handle a mulit-part storyline.
But my favorite part was Usagi's moral debates with Torame especially over the importance of loyalty to a samurai and the code of Bushido. That a samurai who faithfully follows a wicked lord can be seen as being more honorable is still mind-blowing and inspiring in it's own way.
