I never in a zillion years would have thought that the Cover Contest would be the most controversial thread on this site. There, I said it!! Wait till you see what's happening to the Happy Birthday thread, Mr. Troublemaker!

Wait till you see what's happening to the Happy Birthday thread, Mr. Troublemaker! I like this. Just post a picture of what you want to say. Easier to get through the thread.

I think "frozen" is a totally sucky movie and "inside out" is merely just cute. Neither is anywhere near worthy of their popularity or praise imo. Virtually any prior disney / Pixar / animated movie is far better (Except maybe cars2?).

I don't like any of the characters from 'Everybody Loves Raymond', based on the handful of episodes I've tried watching. Maybe I'd make an exception for Peter Boyle as Ray's dad, but even Doris Roberts, who I liked in other shows, was too much of a bitch. Not as much of a bitch as Ray's wife, however. And as for Brad Garrett as the brother, that guy plays the 'slow-witted but loveable oaf' a bit too well for me to think he's acting. My impression of Garrett in any episode of 'Raymond'. " Uhhhhh...Everybody thinks I'm STUUUUU-pid. You ALL think I'm STUUUU-pid. I'm going home cuz I guess I'm just STUUUUUU-pid like that." As for 'Seinfeld': I never watched it while it was in first-run. I picked up enough of everyone's 'unlikability' through the ads and promos, and didn't bother with it. A few years ago, I watched one, and found it less awful than I expected. I've found that watching in very small doses, spaced a long way apart, works. But WHAAAAAT is the DEEEEAL with Jerry and his YELLING the PUUUUNCH LIIIIINES with a RIIIIISING INFLEEEEECTION? I HAAAATE THAAAT! Never got the appeal / success of that show. I tried watching it and just couldn't stand it. Like 2 and a half men. I checked in to see what all the fuss was about and found myself just staring at the tv as if it were drying paint. Seinfeld I kindve dug from the start but really grew on me. Last couple seasons weren't all that though. Cheers is one hit show that had to grow on me. I hated it for the longest time then one day it clicked and I loved it. MASH is another. I didn't appreciate it till I got a bit older and loved it. But hated it as a kid.

I probably didn't start watching Cheers regularly until the year Woody joined, and it didn't become a favorite until Shelley Long left(which for me covered 6th through 8th grades). I've re-watched earlier seasons on Netflix, so now I appreciate the 'roots' of the show a lot more. I also got to like MASH as an adult. but the early '80s shows are a bit of a drag.

MASH was my favorite show the entire eleven years it ran. Now I find it unwatchable.

When you get right down to it, most primetime comedies outside of Seinfeld and The Simpsons are and were formulaic and fairly lame. I think Fraiser was very well written for most of its run.

My daughter recently developed major lactose intolerance. Avoiding dairy has made her life much better, but it becomes a challenge at supper time. I mean, we're in Wisconsin for crying out loud. It's pretty hard to make stuff without milk or cheese here. And just try asking at restaurants and fast food joints for what's dairy-free. They look at you as if you'd asked to sexually abuse their cat. I expect the villagers to show up with torches to burn us heretics one of these nights. Has she been specifically tested for this, or have you discovered this by process of elimination? The reason I ask is that we originally thought my daughter was lactose intolerant, and it turned out after further investigation that she's actually allergic to a milk protein. This is a royal PITA, especially for someone who liked cheese and chocolate, but on the other hand she can eat products containing cooked milk, as the heat denatures the protein and doesn't provoke the allergy.

I have a hard time participating in it because it's sooooooo difficult to vote for a favorite. Especially this month's contest. I love every cover posted. There are at least 3 that are making it impossible for me to pick a favorite.
