Piggybacking on the success of the "Classic Movie" thread, let's hear about the holiday classics that you watch this time of year.
Here's the big one, that we watched on Sunday night: White Christmas, 1954, with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, & Vera-Ellen. It's a well deserved classic with a ton of humor, especially the interplay between Crosby & Kaye, excellent musical numbers with powerhouse singers like Crosby & Clooney, though Kaye isn't bad either (Vera-Ellen, while a phenomenal dancer, had to have her singing voice dubbed), and dance numbers with Kaye and Vera-Ellen. I find it kind of amusing with the four leads that two are best known for singing, and two for dancing, with only Danny Kaye really pulling off both well. Crosby and Clooney do okay on the dancing, but there are some points where it's obvious, especially with Crosby, that the dancing wasn't their strong suit. In an interview on the DVD, Rosemary Clooney comments on her dancing and the fact that Vera-Ellen's singing had to be dubbed, saying that if they could have dubbed Clooney's dancing, they would have had a perfect movie.
For me, this is the champion of holiday movies. What's your choice? Or just ones you have to watch every year?

Rankin-Bass! I own pretty much all of them and watch them every year with the kids. They certainly had a ton of holiday specials with memorable characters like Rudolph, the Abominable Snow Man, Frosty, and the Misers, Heat Miser & Snow Miser. Good choice.

Die Hard! The greatest Christmas movie ever. It also has a great Christmas dinner recipe from Bruce Willis: "You m**********r, I'm gonna kill you! I'm gonna f****n' cook you, and I'm gonna f*****g eat you!"
Die Hard 2 is another good one. Who hasn't dreaded flying during the holidays?

My favorite is the Miracle of 34th Street. Original or remake? I like them both, but probably give the edge to the original.

My favorite is the Miracle of 34th Street. Original or remake? I like them both, but probably give the edge to the original. Both equally well and because of that I have no favorites of the two and they are great for families to watch and I adore these films every Christmas Season when they are playing ... I have seen both of them about 5-7 times in my life and never, ever get tired of them and that's makes them great.

Jingle All the Way. I'm a sucker for Arnold. I think most parents can relate to trying to get that one hot toy for their kids for Christmas. For my daughter, it was when Furbys were the must-have toy. We let her know she would get one, but it would be after Christmas. Ended up she found it to be really creepy, especially when it kept talking after she took out the batteries.

We've recorded all the Rankin-Bass shows, plus Charlie Brown and The Grinch (animated, not the Jim Carry abomination). We will watch A Christmas Story at least twice all the way through on Christmas morning, and my wife will watch Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, and possibly White Christmas at some point during the season.

But I kind of want to see Krampus. It'll probably be awful, but still. I'm a sucker for that stuff.
