Believe it or Not
I just took care of updating my PC with 9 IMPORTANT UPDATES for my WINDOWS 7 PC ... that's right 9 UPDATES and they are still coming and I have no idea when they will stop. Took me 20 minutes to install all of those updates!
Every single one of them were successful ...

How much money do I need to send to Microsoft so my computer will quit asking me to update to Windows 10? Alternately, download GWX Control Panel from ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/

My Nephew informed me that he will be upgrading my PC to Windows 10 and if I don't like it after 30 days he will write down instructions to revert back to Windows 7.

Please make sure he does a full backup beforehand, just in case. And if you have any specific applications you need, make sure you have the discs to reinstall it if necessary. Most of the time it goes fine, but it's best to plan as if you will have to setup your computer from scratch.

Appreciate the heads up and my nephew is a computer whiz and he already done a full backup on Sunday and hopefully we will be fine after today. I keep my PC pretty bare and I don't have any applications installed but thanks for letting me know ... I will be heading over to his home in a few hours from now and I hope it will be fine afterwards. He already gotten taken care of the revert back to Windows 7 if I had to - but I got less than 30 days to do that. He very much aware that ... and that's a good thing too.

I won't lie, it will be an adjustment to get used to Windows 10. I'm most used to Windows 7 from years of it at work, but I do like 10. The one thing that annoys me is Cortana. She pops up far too often just to see if I need anything. She's like a clingy girlfriend. One of these days I'm going to research how to get her to help only when I ask for it.

I got rid of all of that Cortana nonsense the moment I got W10. Haven't seen a peep of it since.

What my Nephew did with my PC and I will pick it up tomorrow is that he's making an updated copy of my hard drive, installed Windows 10 (the free version) and I will use it for 30 days and after 30 days I have the option of going back to Windows 7 and he informed me that Windows 7 is still in play for another 3 years and I can confirmed that tomorrow.

General Update
When, the free upgrade expires at the end of the month - my Get Windows 10 icon on the bottom of my PC (tray) will disappear and gone forever and what my Nephew did is that he made a copy of my free Windows 10 and burn it on a DVD. So, when Microsoft do an update he takes that DVD and update it very easily. My PC can be upgraded to Windows 10 with no problems whatsoever and the good news is that I'm still using Windows 7 until
January 2020 - that's when Microsoft will no longer supports Windows 7. I will try my best to inform everyone here if this change or not.
I will have Windows 10 up and running after Labor Day because my nephew needs time to figure out the quirks of it so that me and anyone else can use it with very little effort at all. I probably use it for a month and revert back to Windows 7 with no problems whatsoever.
He made a (burned another DVD) copy of my Windows 7 and had no problems getting it up and running. So I got both Windows 7 and Windows 10 covered. He also turned off my Windows 7 updates until Labor Day and told me not to worry about it because he has that area covered also.
That's all I know for now.

I hate Windows 10. I had Windows 8.1 until last Summer, and then I stepped away from my computer for about half an hour, and when I came back Windows 10 had forced itself on my hard drive. Windows 10 is a lot more sluggish & much less user-friendly than Windows 8.1 I've been using various versions of Windows ever since the first one, i.e. Windows '95 back in the '90's. And, I can honestly say that Windows 10 is the worst one of all of these.

Windows 10? If only! I have several dead PCs, including one with Windows 10; I wasted $300+ trying to get them fixed. Now the only one that works has Windows XP,and that's constantly freezing, crashing or losing the internet connection. I may have too many anti-malware programs; how do I find and disable them?
Can anyone tell me how to upgrade my Windowa XP computer, preferably to a version that still gets support from Microsoft? It has some of my favorite photos and other stuff.

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade my Windowa XP computer, preferably to a version that still gets support from Microsoft? It has some of my favorite photos and other stuff. I have had numerous issues with various computers over the years. Though this may not work for you, the only sure-fire way I know of to "fix" a problem re: a computer's software is to completely wipe the hard drive. This will eliminate any malware/virus (either hidden or obvious), anti-malware programs, etc. It's a lot easier to do this than to try to locate the source of the problem, which may be impossible. If you do plan on wiping the hard drive, before doing so make sure to back-up any essential files, because they will be lost in the wipe. However, please note that if it's a hardware problem, that's a completely different situation. If a computer's hardware has crapped out, then I would recycle it, unless it's under warranty & can still be fixed. If it's not under warranty, there's no use in keeping this around.
