Howard the Duck #16 may be the worst comic book I've ever read. I happen to like it because it gives the reader a true sense of Gerber's motivations for the series and who he is as a person

I hated HtD #16, too, at the time it was published. I remember being really angry when my subscription copy arrived. Now I think it's brilliant.

I'll continue to read right past Mjolnir without pronouncing it my head as I have for the last 3 decades no matter what the MCU says.
There I said it!

I think it's actually pronounced "Big effin' hammer"... "Mjolnir" is just some sort of acronym in the Icelandic Norwegian dialect with just a touch of Faeroe Island Pictish.
Never mind what Marvel says... what do they know? After all, outside of the Marvel universe, how many Norse gods actually speak in Shakespearean English?

According to Bulfinch's Mythology, all of them. (No lie. Bulfinch is almost certainly where Stan got the idea.)

When Nighthawk joined the Defenders, it killed the book.
There I said it.

When Nighthawk joined the Defenders, it killed the book. There I said it. Wrong. I like Nighthawk and his design. It was lousy writing which never developed him into a more interesting character. Hellcat joining did nothing for me and began the teams quick slide into adding C-list heroes and mostly unenjoyable new idea characters like Overmind and Cloud. There I said it.

When Nighthawk joined the Defenders, it killed the book. There I said it. Wha....cha...ga........ AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (*pant*) (*huff*) (*pant*) (*puff*) Nope, you're wrong! Now, Keith Giffen crashing and burning definitely killed the book. Seriously, Nighthawk was my favorite character in the whole series.

Man oh man... you sure like to poke at rattlesnakes, don't you? I don't have a problem with Nighthawk in the Defenders. I didn't care much for Hellcat in the title, though, and toward the end of the title, Moondragon's pomposity was fairly over the top... I think she was trying to rise to Namor-level pomposity, but it just came off flat... so, didn't really care for her in the book either. Conversely, although I have never been a fan of the Son of Satan character in his own solo escapades, he worked pretty well in Defenders.
Go figure.

If the name of the comic was “Green Arrow’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen,” Jimmy would be dead by the second or third page of the first issue.
Just sayin’.

Some silly opinions on the Defenders being expressed here; the core team consists of: Hulk Sword Girl Dumb Magician Birdnose and Cat-Girl

The Defenders will always be Doctor Strange, Namor , the Hulk and Valkrie, for me.
