Well he is in the underworld (great googly moogly sir, how many time s do I have to tell you, you cannot renegotiate the terms of that deal you made for Brother Power the Geek #3), so it's likely Dan, that magnificent southern bastard that he is, has been dead for some time and is just a shade haunting these here boards. Barring that, there's dirt that calls him sir because he's their elder and he is officially an old curmudgeon...but he's also prone to hyperbole.... -M New Death Goal for me: Haunt a forum or website that I was a part of while still among the living. So, essentially, I'm either talking to a dead guy, an immortal (which could be a demon, a vampire, etc), or someone who exaggerates everything...Cool! As is well known, I am a warm, caring nurturer. Accordingly, I greatly exaggerated my age in order to provide a scrap of comfort to our true senior citizens, like Ish, Ghastly, Rob, Cei-U!, prince hal, etc.

Cool! I've passed through Montgomery a great many times in my life. Passing through it is definitely the best way to experience it, if the last 12 years & 10 months are any indication ... & I strongly suspect they are. It was perfectly OK, I guess. Having New Orleans & the French Quarter maybe 25 minutes away helped a lot, of course. Not sure why it would have a particularly bad rep, unless people were particulary wary of the EPA Superfund site that was Bayou Bonfouca, site of an old creosote plant. Which we lived maybe 6 blocks from for most of my time there. Hmmmm ... Nope. Other than that one-day stop in Knoxville & a few trips to Nashville early in the last decade, my experience of Tennessee is limited to frequent trips up & over to Memphis when I lived in North Little Rock.

Another Texan! Which is to say, at least two too many. (As has been noted previously, as not only a native Arkansan but one born perilously close to the Texas state line, I am required by birth & breeding to loathe any & all aspects of the Lone Star State.) In the five years I have lived here, I have concluded that the only problem with Texas is that it is full of Texans ....

I'm just messing, sorry! I'm a firm believer that we never grow up, we just get older. Like the saying, Growing Old is Mandatory, Growing Up is Optional! But, that's sweet of you!

Oddly enough, the same is true of Alabama & Alabamians (not sure why they stick that "i" in the construction, but they do). Also Arkansas & Arkansans, especially the lily-white reactionary NW Arkansas variety.

How did you do that breaking up quote thing? I need to experiment. I'm glad I just passed then...Wait, what happened in the last 12 and 10 months? Yeah, I was 15 minutes away almost all my life. Simple bus ride or ferry ride and viola! THAT could be it, like I said I was never given reason. That's still cool! I've only gone once to either place. But, I'd love to go back and it's on my recommend list! I'm limited to four places there: Pidgeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and a bit in Knoxville.

Speaking of Arkansas, I met my first native Arksan at my college this semester and even he says he would rather live in Texas.

What happened in the last 12 years & 10 months is that I moved here then.
Y'know, I don't recall what I did to come up with multiple quote blocks like that -- I guess I did it without thinking. (Certain reprobates here maintain that I do all my posting without thinking. But we don't listen to them; they are to be pitied.) I guess it's just a matter of manually entering the quote & unquote commands where appropriate.

Did we say he's stupid? He's realllllllyyyyyy, reallllllyyyyyyy stupid.

Arkansas is probably one of the prettiest states I've been too.

How did you do that breaking up quote thing? I need to experiment. I don't know that it can be done from "preview" mode when replying. I do it via the BBCode mode and then go in and manipulate the individual quote tags.
